I don’t have time for a long testimony, but I do have time for this. I struggled with porn addiction probably from the time I was 10-12, it was the one addiction I never thought I’d be able to get free from, mostly because until last year I did not see it as an addiction. The lord freed me of this about 2 months ago, to date no slip ups, no cravings, and honestly it’s mostly praying for the people I hurt with this addiction. I know as men it can be a tough one, because who are we hurting, or it’s a guy thing. I promise you people know, people are hurt by it, and your life will be ok without it.

@OldDude - Thank you for your courage and transparency in sharing your story. And congratulations on your win! Lord, protect my friend from the sin of the flesh and bless him for the steps he has taken to live a life for You.

Thank you for your prayer, Chris. I struggled with a porn addiction for over 30 years as a professing Christian, before the Lord broke that chain. I installed Covenant Eyes on all my devices and my wife is my accountability partner. A word of caution. Having your wife as an accountability partner can be problematic, and I wouldn't recommend it if your wife doesn't know about your addiction. My wife found out, so it seemed like the best path for me. I praise God for this victory in my life. 🙏🏻

I always enjoy your responses, Ashley, but something you said today especially struck a chord with me regarding society giving us a free pass for sin. It is already so difficult to find the narrow path, but it becomes borderline impossible when everyone you know is telling you there's plenty of room on the wide one.
I recall one moment last year when I proudly told my wife I had not viewed pornography for an entire month, but her response was that there's nothing wrong with doing so. I stumbled the next time she left the house and still struggle with it from time to time. Television and social media aren't much better, as every commercial, sports league, and children's cartoon is telling you to give in to your earthly desires.
I pray that God gives us the strength to stay on the narrow path even when that path gets difficult to manage. The path to God may not be a straight line, and we might sometimes take a step backward, but we must stay on it at all costs.

Old habits die hard. It won’t happen overnight. At the same time, that’s not an excuse to keep doing whatever it is we do. Paul wrote in Romans 7 about not doing what he should be doing and doing what he should not be doing. That battle with our flesh is real. The Bible says the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. I believe it can also be said at times that the flesh is strong. But our God is greater! He is greater than anything we can say or do. He is greater than any problem or habit. May we all surrender now. May we all bow our knee to His lordship now - right now. May we also realize it’s a daily, moment by moment surrender. To God be the glory!

The concept of surrendering to Christ initially seemed like walking a tight rope. My program broke the process into 12 simple steps. Not easy by any means, but simple. Google “how to walk a tight rope”, and I’m fairly certain you’ll find numerous how-to videos that break it down to simple steps. Not easy, but simple… If we are to truly walk through the narrow gate of salvation, we must have the courage to look at our life without the filters society puts on, telling us “it’s okay”. We must have rigorous honesty about our lives and lifestyles, remove any and all character defects that are running the show, and focus on the “how-to’s” one day at a time, one moment at a time, one decision at a time. We will slip. We will fall. We will ALWAYS be able to get back on thanks to our safety net of Grace by the one and only true God. Jesus, thank you for showing us walking that tight rope is indeed possible. Thank you for leaving us a how-to we can follow. Love you, amen 🙏🏻

The lure of the east wide path can look so inviting, but in the end leads to ruin. Stick to the narrow path and follow your good judgment and the teaching of Jesus. Love you Jesus! 🤍💜💛🤎

Lord, thank you for helping me battle lust, which leads to porn. At 48 I still struggle but I know that You are with me and the Holy Spirit helps to lessen the desire that wraps my brain at times. Please bless and protect my brothers here who struggle with the same. Take away their guilt and shame and replace it with Your love. Please hold their hearts and souls in Your loving hands and protect them through the same battle. Give them Your courage to reach out and support others who struggle the same. In Your holy name, amen.
180/365: The Narrow Path to Winning
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. ~ Matthew 7: 13-14
When you put in the work, develop the good habits and kill the old habits - you will find unbelievable satisfaction in your life of faith and walk with God.
God deserves your best and requires your best everyday, every hour. You can do it - stay focused.
Get to that narrow gate! Talk to God about the old habits.
