Thanks for your thoughts everyone. I think it sounds like the best idea is to avoid it unless I’m with my wife and can enjoy the time with her that might come from it. I will work on better discipline for/of my mind.

I have a problem with chasing after God sometimes. I want to but I get so busy doing things I don’t even give God a second thought until after I’m done. To make matters worse when things don’t go my way I get angry. I know God needs to be the center of everything and I do try to keep Him there but many times I find myself jumping fromthing to thing without giving God a thought. I want to change this.

Robert, I agree with the guys who think this is a bad idea. You say it isn't often and not for a long time. My thought is it won't be long before your mind really enjoys those brief moments, and they become much more frequent.

Robert I would say be careful about this also. If you are engaging your mind to the point your body is ready for sex it could lead to a situation where another woman could intentionally or not add fuel to the fire. Also as men I think we tend to put way more thought into the physical part of our marriages and neglect the emotional and spiritual. I believe it would be much better for your marriage if you were to think about your wife’s emotional needs throughout the day and find ways to meet those needs and that will likely lead to more intimate physical time with your wife when the two of you are alone together. This is something I am constantly trying to do better myself. Also I know for myself having done the same thing, fantasizing about my wife, eventually led to viewing porn and masturbation. Remember 1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. If your primed how easy would it be for Satan to throw temptations at you that would be much harder to resist. That is my thoughts and experience

It’s pretty simple really just keep the door open for God in everything I do. I used to complicate the heck out of this. There’s no need to complicate it. It really is that simple. God align my thoughts and actions with You today. When I stray which I’m a man and therefore imperfect let my meditation training kick in to recognize it the departure quickly and realign back to you God and only you. Come with me on todays journey and help me to reflect at the end of the day to see what I did well to what I need to improve upon. Give me your armor as I set out today because the evil one is always prowling out there looking for ever evolving ways to ambush me. All me to assault through the evil ones ambush with your truth as my weapon against it. So I may rest at the end of the day in satisfaction of your light being with me always. Thank you God for another 10 million plus dollar day. I love you God amen 🙏

There are some purists who would say that anything that takes your mind off God is sin. Unfortunately, that would include driving your car at rush hour, solving a thorny problem at work, etc. I would say that fantasizing about your wife is better than fantasizing about other women. And you are not doing this excessively. IMHO, you are OK.

Happiness is a mixture of aligning my free will, with God’s will for me. If I do that, surrender my will over to Gods, wherever I go I’ll have this strong underlying feeling of knowing I’m exactly where I’m suppose to be, doing what I’m there to do, helping who I’m suppose to be helping. It’s only when I forget to surrender a decision over to God that I get this feeling of discomfort in whether or not I’m suppose to be where I am, or doing what I’m doing. I am to take my thoughts and decisions captive, and make sure they pass the test of scripture prior to acting on them. Only then will I know for sure if it’s God’s will, or mine. God, help me to stay in step with you today, help me to not stray too far, hold me close and show me the way, amen 🙏🏻

I do this occasionally Robert! Totally normal for a man to fantasize about his wife, pretty sure that’s how God wants it to be. Only issue I can see is if one of those other women at work can see you with the stiffy-then I would say that is inappropriate! And the main problem with not saving yourself for marriage is that you will get momentary glimpses of past encounters that pop into your head or at least I do, but I rebuke them quickly and replace them with my wife or totally different thoughts!

I’d like your perspective on something. My wife and I were having a discussion. I would like your thoughts on it. Do you think it’s a problem for me or wrong of me to fantasize to the point of an erection about sex with my wife while I’m alone at work even though I will be around younger, attractive women at various points of the day? I’m not talking about long, drawn out fantasies. Just thoughts of intimacy with her that can cause an erection. Even though I stop these thoughts after only a few moments. It’s also not something that happens on a regular basis. Also, do you think fantasizing about my wife could lead to problems with other images or thoughts popping into my head at random times? Random thoughts or images of no particular person. Just inappropriate.
