Looking back, my ability to hold onto the strength, comfort and clarity that gave me was like walking out of my house for the day with a Dixie cup of God with me, and a World around me of parched people and situations. I would run out well before noon, and need to refill frequently. As I continued my practice of every morning starting the same, that Dixie cup became a solo cup, then a big gulp etc. On the days I would forget to pause and refill, those are the days things become extremely stressful and unmanageable. I’d be irritable and discontent. Today, with much practice and more experience turning to God’s supply rather than my own, I’ve found I have a camelback of faith, capable of refilling not only my cup through out the day, but that of others who cross my path. God is our source of infinite refreshment and peace. Ever reminding us to turn always to Him first when situations arise, rather than our own understanding or will. I’ve found, I don’t need a cup at all if I ever get to the place I can truly

I’ve always worked better with metaphors in my understanding and explaining… Which is why I love the parables of Jesus. Early in my sobriety and Faith journey, each morning I’d do my readings, meditate

I must be an android phone, because I know I need recharged pretty regularly from God. I've been to the other side where idea of recharging was knocking back a six pack or a pint of bourbon and distracting myself from myself. God showed me a better path to him. First through some pruning that was much needed to remove the excess of my character, and by that I mean arrogance. I began to get small and I try to stay small. I know I can't handle life without God guiding me and lifting me everyday. I go to the Lord every morning and throughout the day. I work by myself so I find myself often times now just kind of daydreaming about God hanging out with me. It's nothing short of amazing and it's truth. For our God does hang out with all of us all of the time. We who surrender get to be kept full and resilient. Thank you God for the lightest weight and most effective armor a guy could wear, amen 🙏

We all need to recharge our spiritual lives every now and again, if not daily. One way I recharge is my devotionals in the morning and prayers once in a while through the day. Lord, thank you for always being there for us to recharge our spiritual lives. Thank you for your Love, Grace and Mercy! Have a blessed day brother. I Love You Jesus!

We must stay in communication with Jesus all day long through His word, relationships with our brothers & sisters in Christ and constant prayer. Pay attention to the prodding of the Holy Spirit!

146/365: Recharging Your Faith Batteries
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. ~ Psalm 51:10
The phone in your hand does not run on infinite power. No matter how usefuel it may be, it must be recharged often to continue its purpose.
Your faith is like the phone. No matter how strong and useful your belief in God may be, it doesn't function without a charged up and working faith life.
GO DEEPER: Psalm 63
NEXT STEP: Today, take a few minutes to recharge your spiritual battery. Kick your feet up and read the 11 re-charging verses of Psalm 63.
