138/365: God Walks With You

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. ~ Zephaniah 3:17

Just as God rejoiced over His people of Israel, He is steady to stay with all of His people through this very moment. Now, that is something to smile about!

No matter where you are -- in bright places or dark spaces -- God stays with you, Loves you through His son, and rejoices like a father seeing his child come home again.

You have reason to be grateful! You have hope by your side!

I remember many many years ago I was talking with my Pastor and shared me feelings of being distant from God. I felt that every time I sinned I was taking a step back from God until there was darkness between us. My Pastor told me every time I stepped back Christ stepped forward-I WAS NEVER ALONE! The darkness? Was satan wanting me to feel alone

I had one time in my life when I felt had walked away from me. After fighting an intense spiritual battle over a two year period during which I lost a very special friend I had a couple years of relative peace but then another form of attack started my dad was sick with his second bout of colic cancer and we all knew that it was fatal. Due to our age difference he was like a grandfather and father rolled up into one for me and while I tried to show a lot of strength it was hard. When he passed it started a snow ball effect . Soon after returning to work I got fired from my first job after college with no reason given for the firing. That same night my fiancé broke up with me. It sent me into a hard spiral and I turned my back on the Lord. This led to a deeper spiral into porn and gambling. I got to the point were I spent about a quarter of each paycheck on either porn or scratcher tickets every payday. Soon our area got hit by two big winter storms back to back and I found myself betting an entire days wages with my boss that we would not work. I ended up winning the bet but my roommate had had enough and decided to move out. Days after a major blizzard I was facing being on the street with no where to go. However the Lord had made a way and that day I had returned to the Lord and also had a place to stay until I could I get a way to move from Ohio to Arizona. Even in our darkest of times He is there with us looking out for us.

Amen to that!! So my family is coming out of a nearly 2 yr season of struggle and sickness combined with financial attack! I never gave up hope but got close to it a few times but pressed in and kept praying! Just this week 2 of those prayers were answered, big ones!! Got a summer teaching spot that was nearly impossible to get and those funds is allowing us to take our first vacation in 6 years!!! I prayed for a chance to see the beauty of Gods creation-I’ve been praying for both for nearly 2 years and they both come right at the back end of some pretty dark times! The word says to keep the faith through the suffering and at just the right time God will lift you up and restore you!!! AMEN

I made the decision to walk away from him because I thought that I could do better running my own life. That didn't work out very well! I became selfish man when I did that and my life went from bad to worse. I'm so happy that I'm at the year after my life changed. I feel loved today and I'm happy!!
