Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” ~ Jesus

Thank you for your words Jerome. God never promises that we won't have trials, but He never leaves us.

I have had moments when I felt God has left me astray. Those moments in my past when I felt this way I see clearly it was I who left God and did things my way as if I were some demi-god myself. They always broke down into bad times. The bad times would bring me back to God and he would get me to good times then I'd turn away again and start running the show. I've had many iterations of this over the years. I have grown close to God now and fully trust him always. Life has been pretty good for awhile now and instead of taking back the reigns as I always did before I keep on surrendering everyday to Him and wow has it grown a deep relationship with God. So thank you Lord for getting through to me and helping me to finally get out of my own way. Thank you for purpose everyday!!

While He is always with us, we must realize that God is concerned more for our character than our comfort. We are to consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds (James 1). We must stay strong during our challenging moments knowing that our faith will see us through.

A book that I read once, called Eve, put it this way. If you want to return to Jesus, then just re-turn your face to His. You dont have to go anywhere because Jesus never leaves you so just turn and face Him and you will feel His love, forgiveness and peace.

“Our Father”. Early in my journey of surrendering and learning how to seek and follow God, the MSG version jumped off the pages to me while also dealing with an issue of my son lying to me, he was 12. As I searched for how to respond to my son’s actions, the reading that day spoke clearly to me. I was shown it as an opportunity to build trust with my son, to be gracious, to be kind, and to be understanding. As I focused on the importance of teaching my son he can trust me to be honest with me, and that I will never turn my back on him, it suddenly hit me this is how God views us. A Father that, no matter how far we’ve strayed, urns only for our return to him. No “I told you so’s”, “You’ve ruined yourself”, “It’s too late”. Just, I love you, you’re forgiven, and now go and try to sin no more. And, if you do, be honest and repent. Today is a new day, a clean slate. Amen 🙏🏻

Just yesterday I asked God to reveal Himself as I felt so far away from Him. I know He never leaves and in His abundant love and grace, He gave an undeserving man like me several signs, including today’s message. Thank you God for loving me and helping this lifelong Christian with my moments of unbelief.

A former pastor at my church said one time in a sermon, “If God feels distant in your life, ask yourself, ‘Who moved?’” That statement burned into my memory and has surfaced several times since when it seemed that God had become distant to me. Every time I found I was the one who had become distant from God. I was the one who strayed away allowing the enemy to distract me and take me off course. My biggest help in keeping me from moving away was just what we are doing in this app and also having a band of brothers who meet together and hold one another up and on track staying close to the Lord. My brothers are so important to me. Together we help each other from moving away from God.

There was a season of my life where I battled sobriety for years. Every time I ended up relapsing, the consequences would come and the feelings of despair were almost unbearable. Satan would send his lies to my head and make me believe that God’s grace was finished with my life. But thanks be to Jesus, those lies are exactly that, lies. Jesus’ grace is new every morning and I am forever grateful He never gave up on me and never will.
138/365: God Walks With You
The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. ~ Zephaniah 3:17
Just as God rejoiced over His people of Israel, He is steady to stay with all of His people through this very moment. Now, that is something to smile about!
No matter where you are -- in bright places or dark spaces -- God stays with you, Loves you through His son, and rejoices like a father seeing his child come home again.
You have reason to be grateful! You have hope by your side!
