In this context l seek approval the most especially at work, at home with wife, and close friends. I believe it’s rooted in my rejection experiences growing up. I also do struggle with seeking status, money and possessions. Such a good reminder to seek Him above all things everyday.

Never reduce Christianity to a matter of demands and resolutions and willpower. It is a matter of what we love, what we delight in, what tastes good to us. ~ John Piper

God wants us to first focus on him and give attention to him and do his will and he promises that he will help you with your problems but I know as humans we want to be in control of everything and it's hard not to be pursue your goals and daily living routines but God says he will be there with us through our vision of the future that we set for our self but first God wants our heart and relationship with him!!

This is one area I have a problem. When I get busy I’ll go from item to item on my list checking things of not giving a thought to anything else including God. This is something I need to work on. I know God is always present and I need to be more aware of it.

There is such knowledge that you all are just outpouring, don't mind me if I gather these nuggets. As I read the whole chapter my spirit really highlighted the verses 4-8. "ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ" God has exceeding great and precious promises that are ours. His Word will never be broken. He will hold to his Word but will not do your part for you. Let us catch fire for the Lord in all things and not settle for less. Let's outpour his love, which is in us, to all; in turn we shall be filled.

More money, food, status, and approval sounds a lot like self seeking pleasure and validation through other people. Both of which in my experience are black holes to the soul and a divider between us and God. I believe seeking these in way that puts them in perspective with God first is the only way they don’t become Gods themselves over us. All of those things are necessary tools but just tools. I must ask God everyday and throughout each day to keep these in perspective. Especially for me being a hyper competitive type of person. It is really easy for me to get kind of obsessed at “beating” everyone around me for… you guessed it pleasure and validation. God show me the way to accomplishment in an unselfish way. Let each day be one of conquest for You God. May I always give the glory and victory to You. I love you God amen 🙏

Good morning all. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow is not here. God asks us to live in the here and now. That among many other issues of mine is my weakest link.... to be in the present, to be in the now. I have missed out on so many moments God had for me by thinking of the work I was doing for him "out there" Lord give me this day, every moment, may I live it to the fullest for you!

If my first action each morning is to surrender to God’s will, and seek through prayer and meditation what that might be, my whole day unfolds before me. Sometimes, I’ll get snapshots of what tomorrow and beyond MIGHT be, but I try not to get caught up in that. The snapshots into the future serve as, what we refer to in the military, a range of fire. My primary focus each morning must be in the “now”. Aim small, miss small. I try to be laser focused on making sure I fit in the big rocks I know God would have me do today, many of those are prior commitments to others that if I fail to perform will be letting them down. We can’t be people of faith, AND constantly letting others down, if we are to be attracting others to wanting what we’ve found in Christ. I then try to leave enough space in the day for God to show up unexpectedly. A call from someone in need, an impromptu lunch with an old friend, a random encounter at the gas station and the ability to stay and visit much longer than either would normally. The busier you are as a person, the more taken back someone is when you don’t give the impression there’s somewhere else you’d rather be. Probably the most impactful change I made in scheduling was allowing an extra 30 min for EVERY appointment in my day. Such a counter intuitive move in a business world, and a huge game changer for building relationships. God, help me to leave time for you today, amen 🙏🏻

Knowledge of Him who created all. Because I know, there is no excuse for denying God and His Covenants.
My first pursuit should be the reverence and obedience to God's will.
Seek, and you shall find.
Jesus has overcome the world !

Proverbs just reminded me of this fact as well. Proverbs 19:21 "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." I have had dreams, desires and "plans" that I've went after and it just seems to cause so many issues. Now that the Lord has got me where he wants me living in a different state away from family and friends and doing a job that I never thought I would do. I'm now stronger with God then I have been in a very long time. His plans and his will is what we must surrender to. I've learned you can't go through this world with your own plans and think you're going to make it. God will place you where he needs you if you'll let him and Oh Praise God for doing so. Praise God for taking care of us and not letting us wander away doing what we think is best for us. We are Clueless!! Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight."

Upon awakening, I seek Jesus and His will. Even if I am still sleepy and my eyes are barely open, I seek Jesus.

Sometimes I don’t think I know I’m looking in the wrong place for whatever’s I need until everything falls apart. O how I want to be like Jesus!!!

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 KJV. How many times do we go around and seek the things that we think we need or want just to find ourselves in a deep dark place, just to realize that if we had sought God first he would have supplied our EVERY NEED. I know I have done that many times. So instead of running around seeking our own pleasures, let’s seek God first in everything we do or everything we desire.
109/365: What Do You Seek?
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. ~ 2 Peter 1: 3
What portion of your work or idle time is spent trying to get more of something? More money, more food, more status, more approval?
Chasing earthly things is not wrong, but it can leave you empty. God is clear about wanting our focus to be on Him, first. Everything else should be second.
GO DEEPER: Psalm 37: 3-9
NEXT STEP: Honor Him first today with your first pursuit. He will guide your second pursuit.
