I like that, goals without expectations. It makes sense. If I set a goal and expect to succeed that means I’m trying to do it on my own power. Without expectations God can either allow those plans to succeed or gently turn me in a different direction. If God is guiding me to take a different direction and I already have expectations for my plans I’m not even going to listen to Him

A goal is a direction, what you expect at the end is an expectation.

Provided your plans are according to His will…. So, know the will of the Lord for and in your life. For if you’ve surrendered your life to Him, then it’s not your life, it’s His. For He bought you for a price. See Proverbs 3:5-7, e.g.

As part of morning prayers I base it on the Lord’s Prayer and when I get to the verse “Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven” I come back around to ask the Lord “Thy will be done in my life as it is in Heaven.” I invite God to have complete control of my every moment of that day to let His plan for me that day be done. While I do keep a list of things that need to be done and some days I will tick a lot of items off that list while on other days I get nothing done. Either way I feel good about the day because I accept what God had to panned for me that day.

Wow this message hits home for me! In my industry I lead a team of professionals. When I first entered a program of sobriety, I had serious doubts regarding whether I could continue in my industry because the main focus of sobriety at first is staying in the now, one minute at a time, one hour at a time, one day at a time… as a leader, men and women need goals and a plan or the ability to work together towards a common goal is missing. Team cohesion is nonexistent. My sponsor explained to me that we DO need goals and plans in our lives, and that the key is not to attach expectations to them. As this reading highlights, our plans and goals are to simply point us in the right direction, how we get there is by surrendering each morning to God‘s will and plan for us. What if we don’t reach those goals? Well, if I successfully refrain from attaching expectations to it, then it’s no big deal and it’s time to set new goals. Progress not perfection, as my program says. Oh, and the most important lesson I think I’ve learned professionally, how good of a leader I can be, is directly determined by how good of a follower I am to the one true leader! Thank you Jesus, for LEADING me every step of the way! Amen 🙏🏻

When you seek God and listen to Him,He will tell you what to do, how to do it, when to do it .

That last paragraph is beautiful. He is not a slave driver making us do His will. But a wonderful deliverer who gives us what we need WHEN we turn ourselves over to Him. great reminder.

I have never been a long term planner. I have always just taken it one day at a time, let God and let go.
But every morning I ask the heavenly father to direct my path, and point out the people who need His love.
It is amazing the people he has brought in my path. Some were just quick conversations and then never saw them again, some became life long friends.
If we let God plan our days daily, and listen to Holy Spirit and obey, He will direct our paths, he will lay out the plan.
It is an exciting life in Christ you never know what he has planned for you but it is always good.
Love you father, love you all, have a blessed day 💗

I don’t even have plans. 😞. Lord help me to have a vision for the remaining years of my life and please be a part of it. You are invited to be in my life. I can do nothing without you!
113/365: Lost and Found
Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. ~ Proverbs 16:3
Men are masters at making plans, setting goals, or accomplishing tasks. In pursuit of that "purpose", it's easy to lose connection with others.
Have you given up your friends or maybe your family to chase those goals? Wondering about your purpose?
God's plan for you is clear. He doesn't tell you WHAT to do, rather, He says that WHATEVER you do... give it to Him - and he will show you a clear path forward.
