I respect everyone's words and value the messages. We're all coming from, and are at different places in our journeys. We also have varying strengths and skill sets. For some - we feel the need to mingle with those who resist or don't yet understand the positive power of living with Christ in our daily life. It feels like a major part of my calling - but it can be hard to avoid falling into bad habits while trying to help, guide and lead those who NEED to be shown The Light. God bless us for our diverse skills.

A lone sheep is usually soon to be a sheep consumed by evil. We all need brothers to keep us in check with living the life God designed for us. Be the type of brother you would like to have. Be a Bold Christian Man. Love you Jesus! 🧡💛💙❤️

I have watched this happen in real time. I have 2 Christian friends that I’ve mountain bikes with for years. A few others came along who were non-believers and scoffers who used so much foul language it was painful to be around them. Yet my 2 friends were drawn in and now their language has changed, they rarely attend church with their wives and families and they no longer invited me on rides.

My walk with Christ and my sobriety depend heavily on the people i surround myself with. From my sponsor, accountability group, mens group, the men that share on this app, and the mother of my sons help me stay on the narrow path. My boss at work, we spend time talking about jesus and what hes done in ourlives. It really does matter who you surround yourself with and what you feed your mind.

Well said Ashley. Bad company corrupts good morals but there does come a time as we learn to walk by the spirit and not the flesh and have the understanding that we need to be daily filled with love by the source of love (Jesus) that we become the good company in other peoples lives

If I’m not careful, I’ll only remember one of two parts to this message… in the beginning of my sobriety journey, I had to let go of a lot of friends and acquaintances so that I could steer my ship in the right direction with God‘s guidance. In that time I found myself surrounded by people who have already walked this path. They were, and still are, invaluable to me in staying on this path. However, I must also remember who Jesus surrounded himself with. At some point in this journey, once we have figured out how to thoroughly follow God‘s direction, we are then called to help lead others less fortunate than ourselves just as someone once did for us. This catapults us into an entirely new level of spiritual freedom. So long as we are filling our cup from the word of God, we are called to pour it out to those around us. Every day. That, has been the single most fulfilling part of my journey.

A good man once said, “How is one going to soar like an eagle if all he does is spend time with turkey buzzards.”

A very wise man once wrote, “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NLT. We were not meant to do life alone, my brothers. It is so important to belong to a band of brothers who put Christ first in their lives and then support one another as they all walk with Christ. I am in such a group and the support has been incredible. These men have become my closest friends and we all meet life’s challenges together as a group. That gives us all strength and amazing wisdom. Of course, Jesus is a member of this group too.

This was the hardest realization when I gave him myself. Letting go of certain friends, and I still struggle with it. However it was awesome to see who was also believers in my close proximity

I have definitely spent time with the group of wolves in sheep's clothing. I am thankful that I now choose the wiser. Mylife has taken such a turn around since then. I praise and thank God every day for getting me out of that and steering me in the right direction.

84/365: The Wisdom Formula
Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. ~Proverbs 13:20
The people you choose to spend time with, actually does matter. The old saying, "you become the company you keep", is true.
Make the effort to spend time with people who make you better. Test it by going deeper and reading what James has to say about it.
The things we read and the people we listen to - are shaping our wisdom, our decisions, and our future.
GO DEEPER: James 3: 13-18
NEXT STEP: Take a minute and ask yourself, who or what is informing your faith?
