When you give yourself through serving, you always gain more than you give.

We protect, we defend, we provide, we serve. Your community needs people to stand up and give themselves for others.

When your neighbors are hurting or in need of help, the one who notices is the one called to step up.

I feel convicted to help my church community (men) with the battle against sexual sins. I recently went through the darkest time of uprooting my sexual sin and currently recovering. I want to share this new found freedom and sobriety to the men in my church community. Amen.

Giving is important. Time, talents, money, etc are all important. Sometimes just listening to someone is a huge help. All we have is a gift from God, let’s use the gift to help others. I know many have helped me.

My call to serve came 3 years ago. I hadn’t been involved in EMS for several years. I was in a dead end job and had no idea where I was going. For almost a year it had crept back into my mind that maybe I needed to be back into the first responder world. Then an opportunity presented itself. I spoke with my wife. I knew it was going to be a pay decrease but ultimately I knew through prayer that it’s where I needed to be. I made a leap of faith and haven’t looked back since. The money caught back up and my family and I are in a much better place. I am helping people everyday and love everything that I do.

I have been involved in AA since 2014 and what a wonderful gift it has been. I truly believe Jesus was behind the creation of such a program and I must be willing to help others see what life can be like without alcohol destroying it. I haven’t had that much time of sobriety since 2014, but it has been almost 3 years without a drink. Drinking started off as a fun lie, but ended in complete destruction. Thank you Jesus for your grace and help in getting by in this tough life.

How many times have I seen in someone’s face, or heard in their voice, a sense of hopelessness? Do I make time and intentionally do whatever I could to be there for them, ask questions, get comfortable in the uncomfortable with them? Do I tell myself that it’s not my place, not my job, not my business, not my specialty? Or do I remind myself that it’s none of our jobs to fix each other, only to show each other that we care, we are here, they are loved, and that they matter? I remember my seasons of hopelessness, and while on the outside I did pretty good acting like I had everything under control and plenty of flashy possessions to convince the world I needed for nothing, in reality I was starving for spiritual food and parched for the love of Jesus as a man lost at sea… And when I would come across someone I knew had those two things, my desire would creep out to them, I couldn’t help it. That desire was crying out inside, and some would sense it and stay a while longer. I thank God each morning for showing me those spiritual messengers in my life. I pray each morning for God’s will, understanding that each of my past difficulties have special purpose today, and make me uniquely qualified for being a messenger to someone else today if I stay focused in a posture of servitude. God, help us to be the light for someone’s darkness today, amen 🙏🏻

I give and help others because I have been given so much. I feel so blessed, I have to share my blessings with others. It may just be a kind word or a smile, or my time, talents, or treasures. As I’ve been blessed, I pass it to others. Love you Jesus! 🧡💚💙💛

To me the ultimate currency is time. What am I using my time for. I know when I game a lot or something like that, that is all for me I feel a sense of being poor. Which makes sense now. When I give my time to help others be it physically, spiritually, or mentally I feel rich inside. That's the richness I want in my life. Thats a life of fulfillment. That's the reason I feel happy today and most days now. I'm no longer hoarding everything for myself. I love this life of giving and service. That is the wealth I want. I pray that I don't lose sight of that. I pray worldy greed and lust for power and money don't grip me ever again. I pray I always remain humble that the only reason I am helpful now is because the holy spirit guides me. And it guides me because I come before God in deep appreciation and humility that His will over mine. Thank you for teaching me this God and that I practice these teachings today. I love you God amen 🙏

I love the verse from Acts that talks about the value of hard work. As a teacher I try to promote hard work and how to put your best effort in to everything you do. One way to grow your confidence and not get sucked into negative self talk, to work hard and know you did your best and then feel pride in the work you have done. Every summer a group from church take city kids across the country and into the mountains for a backpacking trip. The trip is designed to challenge the kids physically, mentally and spiritually. I love the growth in the kids. How they learned to work hard , help each other, encourage each other, and rely on God every step of the way. It's helped me too in more ways than those teenagers will ever know. I praise God that he provides me with that opportunity to pour into the next generation.

I am doing his will, not mine. I see a future in my life today. I've told myself for many years that I was not good enough because of my physical condition. I thought that the only way to help someone was to be physical, like moving things or mowing lawns. I have given people hope because I teach what God has blessed me with by my actions. I was a narcissist all I cared about was me, I didn't care how things got done as long as I didn't have to do it. After seeking the love of Jesus he has shown me that as soon as I help someone else, my life has gotten better. Just by helping a brother find a rock to shatter the glass he has been hiding behind. And watch him be a man of Christ helping his family, friends, coworkers the power of Jesus Christ is amazing.

I enjoy giving of both my time and my talents. Sometimes it’s little things such as mowing z strip of grass for a neighbor that it would be hard for them to mow themselves or to do some trimming for a neighbor who’s weed trimmer has broken. A few weeks ago I looked out and saw a neighbors wife’s holding into a rope as her husband was trying to get a broken tree limb free from the tree it broke off of and another tree it feel into. I went over a added my strength and weight to the situation and soon the three of us had the limb free so that it was no longer a danger to them or anybody else. Other times it is lending tools of time to a church that is having a work day. While at craft shows I almost always have some smalls ready to pass out to children. It doesn’t take much time of effort to give to help others and brighten their day.
