I have been an accountant for over 40 years. My focus in business and private life has been on money. I am here to tell you it does take a toll on you and leads to self-reliance. The more we rely on self, the less we rely on God. The Lord has opened my eyes the past few years. I now know that He is the Provider. He is the One who gives us the ability to make money. For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches over me.

This is an incredible app; I just found it recently. Re: money, I am reminded of Solomon who asked God only for wisdom. God saw his faith and blessed Solomon abundantly. So it should be with us; stay strong in our faith and we will be blessed also.

Along with this, we must be good stewards of the money and things that God has entrusted to us. It all comes from Him, and we must use it wisely.

It’s not money that is the issue it’s our love of it. It’s us who replaces our Lord and Savior with money and what it can give. The lust and want for money then over powers or love for God. God is no longer our main focus in our lives instead we chase after money or anything else that our flesh wants instead of God. The flesh wants what it wants but the Spirit yearns to be one with the Father and for the the Love of our Lord. So the question is who will you worship God who can give you all things physically and Spiritually or money, or any other type of worldly thing. I tell you this none of these things will last but the Love of our Lord and Savior is Eternal. So I ask again who will you worship money or God?

This is so true! I chased money most of my life and now realize it didn’t bring the happiness I was looking for. The Lord showed me how to slow down and see what He has given me. I thank God that now at 65 I am happier than I ever was. It’s a long story, but trust me, God is there and He does love us! God bless

Money is certainly an idol and it seduces us to bow to it instead of to God. We read in Scripture that man cannot serve both God and money. I see the love of money or wealth as a root cause of much of the crime that we witness today. I have been privileged to participate in several medical mission projects in third world countries. There we care for the poorest people I have ever seen. The poverty, however, is not connected to their happiness. These people enjoyed life, found a full and meaningful life through good health, work, relationships with one another and also with God. They teach us a lot about what is truly important and money certainly isn’t at the top of their list, God is.

at 71 I have had times of plenty and times of little. I can honestly say I was happiest in times of little. money and things don't bring happiness, only a close walk with our savior does. seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and ALL these things will be added unto you. seek the lord daily put him first and I guarantee he WILL provide all you need, not want need.
God Bless you alll......
81/365: Putting Money in its Proper Place
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. ~ Luke 12:34
In our modern world, money has become a real indicator of how things are going. When we don't have enough money, we can become stressed and anxious. The struggle can run our lives.
When we have and abundance of money, we can feel self reliant and disconnected from the reality of the struggle.
God commands and deserves the top spot in our heart and daily pursuit. He must be our treasure so our heart can find freedom and peace.
GO DEEPER: Hebrews 13: 5-7
NEXT STEP: Does the daily pursuit of money influence how you relate to God?
