Porn has been a struggle for me for almost 20yrs now. It has been a battle and has repeatedly damaged my marriage for the last 10 years. Need help in this fight. Shame and fear take over when confronted. I know God has a greater purpose once I get past this road block! Please pray!

I have been battling this 4 alittle while now, it all started with the lust and then it leads to the porn, i manage to resist for awhile, maybe up to a year and then just out of no where it comes back. Its a constant battle , I think it will continue to be this way perhaps its the thorn in my side that Paul talks of.

Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. - Matthew 5:8
Having promises at hand that suit the temptation of the hour is one key to successful warfare against sin.
The Live Bold and Covenant Eyes are a great help as well.

I listened to a great podcast on this topic. One helpful perspective is to acknowledge attraction in the presence of God, but take the extra step to look at any woman as a “sister of God” instead of with lust. This is such a complex and relevant topic for all men today.

I agree, awareness of God and His presence in that moment is transforming. If I really believe God is ever-present, how could I do this in front of Him?

That is not the question to ask. The question to ask is how does God see the person before you? And the answer is, with love, care, concern, as a child that is lost. Not with lust or contempt. That should make you turn away and want to pray for them. That perspective was transformative for me.

It has been a year and a month since I gave up a life long addiction to porn. Men it can be done it’s a daily choice to make. Thank you Jesus

61/365: Breaking Free From Lust
I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it. ~ Psalm 101:3
A life of purity must come with a desire to hate what is evil. However, be careful not to hate yourself if you fall prey to the temptation of lust. That is a trap - you are NOT evil!
When our heart changes, it motivate our behavior to turn away from what is evil and leave it behind. This is why an active, aggressive faith life is critical.
When tempted to lust - ask - how do I feel about what is happening in front of my eyes. Do I hate it or Do I love it?
