49/365: Leading The Way

Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. ~ Proverbs 10:17

Some days we lead, some days we follow. Take care in choosing the right people to follow and be careful of your own path for those following you.

When we discipline ourselves to remain focused on God, we can lead those behind us to Christ.

We help one another. It's what we do.

Great to see what others are doing each day to be consistent in following Jesus. I don't have much to contribute here: I'm still just establishing my daily habits, and struggling with keeping my overly-analytical mind from wandering to every possible potentiality throughout the day, rather than staying in the present with God and doing my best in the moment as I trust Him with my future. I'm VERY MUCH a work in progress, but your testimonies are inspiring. I'll definitely be taking a note from your books. I want to grow daily in my relationship with Jesus, and I'm grateful for the way He is using your testimonies as a tool to do just that!

Great shares brothers, thank you for these! I’m committed to starting my days in surrendering my will over to Gods, and aligning my thoughts with what God would have me say/do throughout each day. As a man, however, my mind constantly battles to take me off on it’s own path. Either into the past, to obsess over things I have no ability to change, or into the future regarding things that most likely will never occur. Regardless, the mind seeks relevance by taking me away from the present moment, where God resides and all His comfort and strength is with me. Meditation is a skill that, with practice, makes it progressively easier each day to remain in a state of awareness and aligned with Gods will. My mind, ego/pride, get more and more in check with each day that I’m focused on where my mind try’s to wander. Reading and studying the mind, has helped me to grow closer and closer to God and His whisper gets progressively louder, while the noise of the World around me finally gets quieter. God, help me to stay on track with centering all that I am and do around you each day, amen 🙏🏻

After turning to Christ I was able to overcome many addictions. One thing I had trouble letting go of though was alcohol. Not that I drank much but I liked to sit by the fire on the weekend and have a few beers or after a long hard day of work have a beer with my supper. After awhile though I started feeling conviction and thinking about my nephews and my son who didn’t have any other positive male role models in their lives. Then my oldest nephew who was 16 at the time started to go out drinking with his friends. At that point I realized these boys were following me and they were going to do what I do not what I say so since then I cut alcohol out of my life. I now take turns taking the three of them out for lunch to talk about life and offer encouragement and guidance when they need it. My oldest nephew has now started his own family and is turning out to be a great dad and family man

Get up, give it to God, go get the day. For me it's all about attitude and staying hungry for God's word and curious about all the little miracles God performs throughout each day. Giving thanks all day long for His grace. God forgave me so I could forgive myself and become unburdened. I owe God my life and in owing Him that I must work hard and stay disciplined. Every morning read with intention to write and meditate on the readings. Everyday take care of the body He gifted me with. Everyday find ways to use my talents to show an example of what living in God's grace looks like to all around. Study God's word so when those moments come when someone is curious how I changed so much I can answer with confidence and be of service to them. Everyday is a rare blessing to walk the earth. May I always walk it following you God. I love you God amen 🙏

@Micheal we all are fighters. I have done things in my past that I thought I would never forgive my self for. Being around people who Truly care about lifting others is who I strive to be today. As long as I keep moving forward half step by half step or crawling on my hands a knees. it's a lot better than staying in the past or staying idle. "keep on keeping on" Joe Dirt.

I want to follow Jesus. My family is following me. I’ve made such huge mistakes. I pray they learn from them and don’t repeat them.

I'm following people who show me how to live by faith, not people who live and work for material things. My life in the past 8 months went from almost taking my own life, to be the person who loves who I am today. I want to show people that the strongest thing that I can do is help the next person to find Jesus.
