36/365: How To Reclaim Your Peace

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.

He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. ~ Psalm 23

This payer is what bold faith looks like, feels like, sounds like.

As the day unfolds in front of you, remember that God equipped you for this moment. Win the day through His strength and wisdom.

This scripture and prayer are empowering for me as the “Valley of darkness” can mean so many different things for the different things we encounter in our life and spiritual walks with Christ. I recently found out a friend of mine committed suicide and it had me feeling so sunk. I truly am sad about it but it makes me grateful to know that with God we can navigate through any phase of life.. Darkness stands no chance. Praying for you brothers… simply seek the lord through thick or thin.. he always comes back full circle for us.

Obviously, it was one of the most iconic and memorable prayers from my childhood when I did not understand it as I do today. The Love of God is so wonderful. I know my faith today because of God's revealing. I 🙏 pray that you all my keep strengthening your faith as has been a gift for me. I wanted to ask for prayers for a friend who just lost his wife, he knows she's with Jesus but surely in need of prayer. His name is Loyd. Thanks be to God that prayer works as He makes it our channel. God Bless

I really need Gods peace right now. After 35 years of marriage and an impending retirement my wife and I are on not just different pages but different books! I’m praying for the Lords wisdom and guidance as we navigate this new chapter in our lives, where to live, and what the future holds for us.

Robert M. I also am 57 yrs old and can remember my Dad talking about "the good old days". I thought he was silly at the time but now I find myself saying the same type things to my grandkids. We were talking about how products don't last but relationships do. I assured them their family all loved them but God loves them even more. He could never stop that relationship and had loved them since before they were even born. They are 11 and 8 it was a great and really rewarding talk. Thank you Jesus for that.

I love this Psalm. I remember reading it many times in bootcamp a couple of decades ago. I had faith then. I was quick to go to God during pressing times in the valley of darkness. God always helped me. But somehow I got it twisted up for many years that I helped me and would drop the sword of truth and armor of God the moment I would get out of the valley. With no compass to guide me I found myself in a loop of go to God in the valley and go to myself when out until I wander back into the valley. I had no compass living this way. I've learned though that I must always always always wear my armor of God and weild his sword of truth. That is my compass to do actual good in this world unselfishly. It is only by the grace of God I make it out of those valleys. Now I look at them as opportunity to really get to work when God's compass takes me through one now. I don't have to be afraid ever because God is with me in all things and His grace not my human strength is the reason for the good in my life. I must remember that everyday. I am so grateful that God broke through and showed me the path and how to stay on the path with constant love for him and gratitude for all things in life. Thank you God, I love you amen 🙏

Good morning my brothers. Welcome to another great and glorious day that our Lord has made. I got woke up this early on this wonderful day by our dog wanting to go outside just to step out looking at one of the most beautiful sunrises I have seen in long time and the birds thanking and praising God for a break from the bitter cold temps we’ve had the last few days. Their songs, each one so beautiful in and of itself, seemed to be blending into one of the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard. Now as I set here typing this with one of our cats laying in my lap purring and adding his part to the choir’s song I think how blessed we are to have such a great, wonderful, glorious, merciful and forgiving Father to give us something like this to wake up to. I think of how marvelous it is to have a Father that gives us peace where we see turmoil all around us. What a gracious Father to lead us through all the darkness in our lives, while leading us out of the darkness into the light, protecting from our enemies while they seek to devour us. All we have to do to get all of this is to surrender ourselves to Him and accept all the peace, love and joy he has to offer us. It is as simple as that totally and unconditionally surrender to Him; letting Him be Your Shepherd and Guide.

Robert McFaddin, I’ve stressed for the last two years about these perilous times. I’m a middle-aged man with two young sons and I don’t really know how to navigate this world anymore. God gave me these words from 1 Timothy around Jan. 1 this year. They spoke very loudly to me. Hopefully they will give you peace. “But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

My heart is filled with worship this morning as I reflect on what the Good Shepherd does for me. He provides for all my needs, He restores my soul, He guides me and protects me, He anoints me, He loves me with an unfailing love. Oh Lord, I worship You and thank You for Your love. I thank You for making us all feel special and wanted because of Your amazing love. Thank You Lord Jesus!

I am thankful for Jesus, your life giving words, the day, the many lessons and lovely experiences, the birds singing happily in the morning, knowing I am a child of God in Jesus and have safety, acceptance and significance as promised. Thanks for the certainty that this applies to all who accept you Jesus, and that I do not need to worry that your love will reach all I care about.
