29/365: Being a Pure Man

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. ~ James 1:27

Faith isn't about the church buildings or how many bible verses you know by heart. It's how you intentionally apply your love and God's love to the people around you that matters.

We serve because of our faith -- not to earn faith. Practice a faith which carries out God's command to love Him first, and then love others.

GO DEEPER: Romans 12: 3-8

NEXT STEP: Provide an act of love/service to someone who is waiting to see a glimpse of God. Pay attention to the blessing of joy that will come to you afterward.

Loving others is a thing that is constantly brought up in the word. I believe that the power of love can break barriers, cause breakthrough and be an effective game changer in any situation

Growing up, my family would attend church every Sunday. And now, as an adult, I do my best to show my children the importance of church. But when we are unable to attend a service, my wife and I do our best to educate our children on God's Love.

I used to wear Christian shirts all the time but I realized one day I wasn’t acting what my shirts said. I don’t wear those shirts anymore but instead try and act what they say. It’s always the heart that matters not what is seen on the outside

I like to pretend the shirt I'm wearing says in big red letters front and back I LOVE JESUS. Then act appropriately as if everyone looking at me know I'm a Christian.

I think about the fact we never know what kind of impact we will have on people on any given day. Maybe they're family, friends, or total strangers. I pray that I keep you God at the forefront in any and all interactions. That I can be a beacon of hope for the defeated, for I was once completely defeated and you saved me through your followers. I ask for your guidance, clarity and vigilance to see where I can be of service to others, and then follow through with service. No matter how tiny that service may be thank you for those opportunities to serve and grow in your light God. I love you God, amen 🙏

Praying for you, Dan. I'm reading through Genesis right now and just came across a passage where Joseph's brothers apologize for putting him in a difficult position (to say the least!). Joseph responds by saying, "You did not put me here; God did." Even if your new job is difficult, God has put you there for a reason. Let Him be a part of your work and use your job as a way to glorify Him.

As we walk our daily lives let us remember that it is what church that we go to, which Bible we read, how good we are at remembering scripture, who we know are even what we know here on earth. What is important is that we know Jesus as our personal Savior, we have God in our hearts, and that we show His love and mercy out to those which we encounter each day. There are so many ways that we can give to others that reflect God within us. We can smile when we see someone that seems down and out. We can show them love even when they don’t show it in return. We can show care and compassion or lend a proverbial or actual shoulder they can cry on when they need to vent. We can give of our talents, our energy, our knowledge, we can take a fatherless child under our wing and mentor them, we can give financially. One of my favorites is just smiling at a total stranger and saying Jesus loves you. One thing I used to do is to go to the dollar store and buy cheap Bibles to have on hand and when you encounter someone I felt needed it I would hand them one. Even stopping at a fast food place and grabbing a meal for someone, paying for the meal of the car behind us In a drive through, paying for the groceries of someone that is struggling. Most times it is the little things that count. Let us show God through our lives.

Oh man that’s good stuff, lately I have been raging behind the wheel as it seems everyone but me has lost their frickin minds on the road since the new year! So I am praying that I will model for my kids how to act behind the wheel and show love even to those who aren’t easy to love

Praying for you Dan. Doing/starting something new is always difficult. Spend time with GOD today and ask him to show you the steps and your purpose with this new job. It may be right where he wants you.
