But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Matthew 6:7-9 KJV

I also seem to be busy all the time. I have to slow down to worship God usually. I get so focused on doing things God gets pushed to the side. I know it’s not right since God is the center of all things even when I’m not recognizing it. I just have to take the time to recognize it.

There are times when I need to be at church. Just being there kind of resets my mind and heart. When the voices are bad and the mental state is off, I need to be surrounded by the church just to calm the storm. My daily worship is my daily attitude and effort. Putting forth my best in all tasks is how I honor GOD.

I don’t know about everyone else here, but using references to distance was part of why it was hard for me to grasp my true relationship with God. I saw myself in one place, and God far off in another. I saw the path I wanted to be on, somewhere in the distance, with a forest of changes needed between me and it. I remember feeling as though this was an impossible journey, that I’d strayed too far for me to ever make my way through it. Even in scripture, it’s common for it to be referred to in distance I think. What helped open my eyes, and my heart, was realizing God resides inside of me. Inside all of us. The journey is not from where I am, to where I want to be. But it’s a process, of identifying the things inside of me that I need to clear out, so the God shines through me. God never leaves us, He’s forever inside us. Worship is a key that unlocks the closet we’ve locked Him in. He’s knocking, always, and all we have to do is unlock the door with worship, and open it by asking Him to take over. So, no matter how far we’ve strayed, we’re already on the correct path, we just need to ask Gods help in clearing all the crap that’s in front of us. He’s my machete I suppose 🙏🏻

Thinking on the last year pestle will look at the hardship I’ve gone through and say you had a bad year good luck I g this one. But I see where god has helped me to grow through my trials. No I have not had a “ Easy” year but it was a “Good” year because of God.

I remember an old Petra song called Just Reach Out and it says this: “You say you’ve walked ten thousand steps away. But did you know that it’s only one step back. Because the who hears you when you pray, Is the one who’s there beside you and He’ll never walk away.” I need to remind myself daily that He is there and desires my time and my devotion to Him. The all consuming fire!

I have always been a multitasker and years ago I trained my brain to let one track be dedicated to continuous praise, worship and prayer. Just as Adrian referred to. That track ok f my brain never gets used for anything else and while other tracks may be working on other ideas and tasks every time I come back to that track it is still going with nothing but what I dedicated it to. Micheal you sound like you are the same type of person in many ways and you could do the same if you put your mind to it. Set aside one portion of you brain and let it be dedicated to prayer, praise and worship. Then go ahead and multitask on other task to your hearts content but just let that one track/area stay dedicated to worshipping God. Even though I am retired now I still find that when my wood shop is fully cranking out product I may be working on several projects at a time and have 40 or 50 pieces in various states of production every time I stop and take a break the PPWR(PrayerPraiseWorship Railway) as I refer to that track comes straight to the front and is fully operational.

ReeceB....This is for you.
Philippians 3: 13-14 says: "Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it on my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus". Wallowing in past failures keeps you exactly where Satan wants you. Defeated, ineffective, and trapped. No one is perfect, nor do we need to be to approach the Throne of God. That's the whole reason for the coming of Jesus. "Forget what lies behind" Reece, and "press toward the goal" by worshipping God. Just do it. Are you worthy? Of course not, who of us is? But that's the point of the coming of Jesus. He has covered your sin and made you worthy in the eyes of God to worship Him fully.

I thank God, praise God, and pray to God numerous times throughout the day. Many times the prayers are micro prayers and my praise is truly heartfelt. Then if course church on Sunday is full blown praise. He is out Gif and we are His people. Love you Jesus! ❤️🤎💙🧡

I understand what your going through Reece….those feelings can be completely normal. I’ve been there myself. 2 years ago is when I started have a relationship with Christ. Yes it felt awkward and distant at first. But each day I read my devotion and prayed a little. It wasn’t long (pretty soon actually) when I felt gods Holy Spirit and presence in my life. You see that’s one main reasons we are different from all other species on this earth. We have a spiritual IQ and ability to connect with God. We also deep down in our souls have a longing to want to connect with God. Keep at it Reece….pursue God everyday. I know for certain he is pursuing you.

You aren’t alone with that feeling, Reece. Always remember- God doesn’t leave, He pursues. We leave - and when we’re ready to turn around and head back to God, 100% of the time, we find that He’s already there waiting on us. Feelings and thoughts of shame are not from God. You got this!

Reece B—Yes it’s normal. Just recall the story of the Prodigal Son. He grew ashamed of what he had done. But, the moment he (re)turned to his father he was forgiven and welcomed into the household. So it is with our Heavenly Father. The moment you turn to Him , He is overjoyed that have chosen to be with Him. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been gone 5 minutes or 5 decades—He is joyful that you have chosen to be with Him. Drop the guilt and shame, for God does not place those things on you; you burden yourself with them.

Im struggling with the fact of I’ve been out of touch with God for so long and it makes me feel like it hard to reconnect with him and I’m ashamed to worship and thank God due to my absence, is that normal?

Worship is something in my heart and must always reside there in bad times which for me is easy to worship in because I need help and good times where I must be extremely humble and not get arrogant that "I got this" mentality creeps in. sometimes I forget but thankfully being a part of a group of guys my awareness for that is much higher so that rose gets nipped in the bud much much quicker before I make good times bad times. Thank you God for the fellowship, amen!!!

Yeah that’s good Adrien! My problem is that my default mode is busyness…when I slow down enough to do those things you mentioned then I walk in the freedom Christ died for me to have and life makes sense…but unfortunately I don’t live there regularly-trying to change that and having limited success…but when I do succeed oh man is it sweet…I live for those moments

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
one thing I leaned which I'm forever grateful for is that we don't have to wait to pray, worship, or give thanks! It's amazing how much life changes when we start involving Christ in every little aspect. Praying before eating, praying before making a sales call, thanking God for the groceries we were able to buy, thanking God for the fuel to get places, etc. just giving thanks and worship made a huge difference in my relationship with Him!

15/365: Every Day is a Day of Worship
Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. ~ 1 Chronicles 16: 28-29
A church service can be a place of worship. However, make certain you never substitute or trade-off attendance at church for worship of God.
Worship is a state of the heart. Worship is what happens when our heart is humbled and inspired by God.
Worship is a response to God's grace and His love for us. It's the holy gratitude we express with or without words to our creator.
