10/365: God Gave You Work To Do

You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. ~ Deuteronomy 8: 17-18

We men often assign our value through our work. It's easy to become so absorbed in our accomplishments that we look past the architect of our talents.

Celebrating how God has enabled your hands and mind to do your work is a powerful witness of Him through you.

Rather than asking God "Lord, is this what you want me to do?" Instead, ask God to empower you to represent him in whatever you do.

I struggle with fear of failure and pleasing people. I tend to over exert myself and lose myself in my work to meet expectations. I pray to find peace in giving my best even if it comes up short. Thank you Lord for giving a job/vocation to shine your light. Amen.

I was a motor cop and loved it. I used to joke how they used to pay me to ride a Harley and carry a gun, shy of Heaven in didn't get any better to than that for me. Then in 2002 it all got taken away by an impaired driver who broadsided me at over 50mph. I was mad at God for a long time and did not understand why that was taken from me. witnessing to suspects on the way to jail is rarely effective but I tried. since my retirement we have been able to tell our story how God saved me and helped many couples. we have heard stories about husbands going back to church after reading my wife's book. being able to see a small part of what God is doing with you on this earth is truly amazing. thank you Lord

I agree kick start is great thing. Just realizing how much we have been blessed is great. We should always be working in all we do as unto the Lord. He has given us so much. Thank you Lord.

It’s important to remember that the talents God gifted us with are to be used to bring glory to Him though everything we do, and not for our own personal gain. God wants you to use the talents you have for His glory. You may feel like your gift is nothing spectacular, but in reality, it is crucial to the fulfillment of God's plan. As we seek God, He will show us how to use our gifts in ways that will truly benefit others, and He will open the doors for us to do so.

I give all thanks and glory to the Lord! He has blessed me beyond measure. I know it is not my works that gotten me where I am today, it’s all Gods favor. I pray that his lights shines through me to glorify him and draw others to him. Thank you Lord!

This is so true. As a President and CEO I have given the Lord all the glory for the past 22 years. His promise has been fulfilled more than I could have imagined. I’m surrounded by Christian executives, directors and General Managers! God is good all the time. Dedicate your work to Him!!

I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE A CHURCH AND MEN THAT HAVE GUIDED ME TO THE LORD, I WAS LOST BUT NOW I AM FOUND MY PRAYERS ARE WITH THE PEOPLE WHO ARE COPING TO BRING HAPPINESS TO THEIR FAMILIES KEEP WORKING ON IT TO PROTECT YOUR LOVED ONES

I know I am a lucky man. The Lord has given me everything I have ever needed. I hope his glory shines through all that I do. His plan is true, and even though it isn't easy, I will do my best never to lose sight of that.

Neither I, not my family, have ever had abundance. I am working so hard to end this generational curse of no God. I love this devotional because it's an important reminder to give all the glory to God always. I don't want to fall so I must stay close to him.

Before surrendering my life and will over to God, I had experienced many “successes” seemingly on my own. I know much better now. I see how God was the driving force behind every good fortune I experienced. I also see now where other people were essential in every victory as well. I was not appreciative of God then, and I certainly wasn’t appreciative of the people around me making it possible. I was a living example of being the center of my universe, and I experienced the falling out that inevitably comes from that. I can relate pretty well with Solomon in that I’d reached a place where I could afford most things I’d always dreamt of, yet the more I obtained, the emptier I felt. I can say with zero reservations today, that nothing of this world, NOthing and NOone, can fill this God sized whole in us… As I seek for God’s will in rebuilding my business on His firm foundation, I ask for your prayers. Prayers that I’m able to stay humble, and continue to magnify God in all I do, rather than myself. I know that whatever I manage to build this time around, will serve in growing His kingdom. 🙏🏻

The messages in these kickstarts hit home every morning. I recently went through a divorce. My wife decided to leave and one of the things she took with her was a devotional on our living room table. After she left I sat at the table alone drinking coffee and God brought here to the morning kickstart. Now, I start my days at the table, or the fireplace with my kickstart and a prayer. Each morning the message seems to go straight to my heart and has empowered me to heal and and stay close to God. The power of God is real and present if you look, listen, and be still enough to feel and accept the blessings and strength we all are digging deep to find. God is real and I find him here, everyday. I tend to be one of those people that make list of things to do around the house. In fact I normally have a short term list of the things I want to get done dying the week and a long term master list of all the projects that I need to do around the property. Many times I consider how good of s week that I have based on how many of the task on the weekly list I have gotten accomplished. I do this because I feel it helps keep me on track at making our a better home in which to live. However many times I find that as watch my neighbors do their things that I get detracted from my list because I feel that they need help with a task or two they are doing or that I just need to talk with them. When I listen to the Lord as He prompts me to leave my task list behind to go help someone else or to talk to that other person and either just cheer them up a bit or witness to as we chat I come away feeling better about myself. No matter how much you want to show that you can accomplish a lot of work always keep your eyes snd ears open to see and here what God wants you to do instead of what you have set out to do. Let God be your guide at all times because He may have a totally different set of plans for you than you have for set for yourself.

As usual very timely! I hate my job but don’t want to be unemployed. I teach elementary art. I’d rather be making art than teaching it. I need prayer for God to empower me to represent Him there and everywhere I go and whatever I do.

Amen to that! “Use words if necessary” …so good! God give me the strength to present your face and your love to my students every day…despite the danger of “losing my job” for uttering the name Jesus!! Also give me patience to deal with the idiots in the road these days. I find my anger boiling up each time I drive lately and my example is trash when others are in the car with me, my actions are not filled with mercy and grace! I love you Lord! Amen

Although it is sometimes difficult in this day and age, we can still minister to everyone around us. St Francis Assisi once said “preach the Gospel everyday, if necessary use words”. I love the simplicity of this. He is basically saying “let your actions do the talking”. Stay strong friends and may you all have a blessed day.
