Ever since I became a Christian and reading Gods amazing book the Bible, I use Matthew 25, as my mission statement. When Jesus said (WHEN) you do it for the least of them, you do it as unto Me. Yes whenever I we serve with a heart of gratitude then the blessing flow both ways. I am privileged to serve in my church with little children, and an inner City ministry. All to the glory of God.

We can serve people in so many ways that can mean so much to them yet takes so little of our time and energy. For instance I have a neighbor who has a little strip of grass by the street in front BBB of his house. To get to that little strip which takes three or four passes to mow he would have to go through a lot to get his mower down to the area so every time I mow I take care of it for him. He also doesn’t have a trimmer so I take my trimmer over and trim for him. At one point last spring there was a gas line problem at his sisters house that damages the English ivy on his sisters and mothers front banks so I began to keep them trimmed as the weeds started to grow. The church across the street was having a work day not long after we moved in and while I was working on a project of my own I stopped and grabbed my push broom and went over and swept up an area that had become cluttered with wood chips that they where moving. I went back to my project and soon after four of the guys came over to help me with mine. Sometimes it is just a friendly smile and warm greeting that can make another persons day. It is great to help others in big ways but don’t forget the little things as well.

Every time I can remember getting in a funk, and I prayed for relief, it almost always came in the form of a phone call, text, or message from someone in need. Doesn’t really matter what their need was, what mattered was that I was in a position to help them. When I chose to help, it cured my problem. We can not feel grateful, while at the same time feeling any kind of negative emotion. We can not actively be thinking of someone else’s well being, and worrying about ourselves at the same time. Following the prescription of being of service to others, is the cure to our human condition. It’s the cure all. The more of service we are, the happier and serene we’ll be. If reading this there was a sense of “what about me and what I need to get done in the day?”, that is the cancer that feeds the negative in our lives. That, is the root of all of our problems. Selfishness, pride, and ego. God, help me to place You and my fellows ahead of myself today, Amen 🙏🏻

The best way to get yourself out of a funk is to help others. Soon you’ll forget what got you down and your attention will be on those you are helping. As we are blessed, let us bless others. Love you Jesus! 💛🤎💚❤️
336/365: Serve To Find Your Joy
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. ~ Hebrews 6:10
When we get locked into a season of unhappiness, switch the focus from your worries and problems, to serving someone close to you.
Our happiness and contentment can be measured by how often we serve others.
God cares about us and sends us helpers when neeeded. And we are often called to be the helper.
