It’s always good to pray and talked to god. He has been there with me through it all. I know I can do better but that does come with time. I thank you father

Let go and let God. Jesus is here to take our burdens. All we have to do is surrender it to Him, the Great I Am! God bless

I think this fall directly inline with self accountability and personal inventory. Listening to our mind and body when it is screaming for a rest. What’s the point in killing yourself with stress? Money? Legacy? Making sure people know your name? That’s a lot of self if that’s the motivation. Someone once said to me don’t try to be a great man, but instead just be a man and do what’s right in the moment. Don’t complicate it and don’t make it into a self serving thing. Just be a good man plain and simple. All of it will take care of itself if you do that and your life will be made simple and easy. Your yoke will be light. I can relate to this a lot. Letting go of selfish ambition for a simpler serve others ambition has been life changing. It’s not to say the old me isn’t in there saying grab that glory for yourself Brandon. That version of me will always be in there. Just some of my character defects to make sure I stay alert and makes me have to work everyday at my faith in God first. Thank You for that God. I love You amen 🙏

Resting in the Lord is not dependent on your external circumstances at all, but on your relationship with God Himself. ~ Oswald Chambers

I used to pride myself on how many things I could juggle. When alcohol stopped numbing the stress and began adding to it, my world gradually collapsed. In recovery, I was very cautious to not pick up any additional responsibilities or accept any added burdens regardless of the benefits. This was after many relapses and each time my sponsor pointing to how God and my program were still not my top priority, there was some serious surveying of my responsibilities and whether they were self serving, or selfless serving. Would they serve my will, or God’s will for me in service to others? Would they inflate my ego, or humble me? All these helped me to clean house of all the things on my plate not placed there by God. There were some that stayed, but after that honest appraisal process, I approached those things with a new selfless perspective. Sounds strange but here was a good litmus test for me personally once I finally began considering adding back responsibilities, “Would this make an impact on the world after I die?” It was kind of a more detailed assessment that lined up with my sponsor’s suggestion of “Is this God’s will, or mine?”. Because I’ve found that all the things God has put on my heart to pursue, benefit others more than myself, and then in doing benefits me even more knowing it may well have a residual benefit that far outlives my mortal time here 🙏🏻

Stress: the single greatest cause of physical and mental factors leading to illness and marital difficulties. This is my own definition of stress as I have seen it effect my own life and that of others throughout the years. The distance grows between ourselves and our wives and children which lead to you got it even more stress. It causes our bodies to start breaking down leading to illnesses such as high blood pressure, heart issues and issues with some even contributing it to helping lead to some cancer because we neglect ourselves because of the health issues. It can lead to addiction issues because we want to get away from the problems of our lives for a short period. There is only one real way to get rid of the stress in our lives and that is allowing God to have complete control and letting Him handle the things that we allow to stress us. Most of the time the Lord is right there beside us asking us to let Him take care of that issue for us. Other times He is pleading with us to let Him handle it. Where are you at: are you listening to the Lord and letting him have complete control, are you trying to hold to what is stressing you out and letting it get the best of you or are you giving some of it to God and trying to hold on to the rest? Overcome your stress by letting the Lord have complete control . Who knows you might save your health, job, marriage and maybe even your place in Heaven. LET GO, LET GOD.

This was great to read today. I’ve been stressed pretty heavy lately. I own my own electrical company and the stress of getting to everyone in a timely matter plus trying to spend enough time with my wife and daughter has been a little difficult. Before reading this I was telling myself to take it one day at a time even one hour and let God have control. He ALWAYS comes through! Have a great day everyone God Bless!

The wife and I had a mini date last night and things were going well until she made a comment that cut me to the bone, over a mistake I made 4 years ago now…I immediately withdrew inside mySELF and shut down on her. I was fully prepared to just avoid n go to sleep upset, the pull to do that was so strong but I took a walk outside and in btw mosquito bites I felt God say SHARE YOUR FEELINGS. I knew that was going to lead to an hr of talking and I was tired, it was late, but for once I listened and glad I did. It was a hard convo to have but worth it. All bc I got still and listened to God! We are both so wounded and generally don’t communicate well bc both in self-protection mode so this was a victory! Praise Jesus-we need so much more of this!!!
312/365: Putting Your Stress in God's Hands
Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. ~ Psalm 46:10
What kind of pressure are you applying to your life? Who is asking you to do more than you can do?
Yes, the soil must be plowed, but we are to find our ultimate joy in the work we are provided and to remember that God is the authority over our life.
If you have unnecessary stress in your life, maybe it's time to put it down and get back on track with God's vision for you -- to live abundantly in His truth and mercy.
