That is great Ash! Man that was great. There’s many rabbit holes in life. Many are well camouflaged. If I’m being honest about myself the last month or so I’ve been down one. A large project at work and a compressed time frame to do it. I got kind of lazy on every front but work. I’d get my readings in but I wasn’t applying them. All around the clock was about the project. At first it was a fun challenge.Then I had a bunch of maintenance windows to complete it (working nights to upgrade a network). I suck at working nights but I know how to bio hack my body to purposely put in into fight or flight response. I’ve always done that for night work but I have never had multiple weeks of nightwork. Putting myself into that mode is great for staying awake and focused on finding problems.But it also makes me hunt for problems and even make some up that don’t actually exist. It slowly turned into me not trusting God to run the show and me making problems out of nothing in my relationship. Then flailing like a child wanting to get my way. It was like an echo of the old me coming up to the surface and that scares the heck out of me. Back to God back to His plans. Thank God my GF is compassionate and instead of blasting me for being a little a-hole yesterday she’s reminding me to get back on the path of let go let God. I am blessed to have her and to have incredible friends. I owe it to them and myself to always work towards my best God respecting self. I love You God amen 🙏

Imagine if we entered every situation, every decision, every interaction with as much intentionality and concern as the priests of the Old Testament did entering the Tabernacle… Why did they focus so well on staying clean and pure? They’d burn up! Isn’t that what we’re essentially warned of as well? We have been entrusted with the Holy Spirit, living within us. We are to be good stewards, careful not to expose the Holy Spirit to unclean things. When we do, it’s written somewhere in Scripture the Holy Spirit grieves… I can attest that when I slip and say things I shouldn’t, watch things I shouldn’t, worship things I shouldn’t, I can feel my nearness with the Holy Spirit dwindle. It takes time and focus, prayer and meditation, to regain that bound and feeling of nearness. I want to walk step in step with the Holy Spirit throughout my day, and I can’t do that if I continue to stray from the path God lays out each morning every time the world dangles a shiny object. If I’m going to open social media, I have learned that I’d better spend some time prior remembering the purpose of me going in there. If it’s for work, then that’s what I need to stick to. If it’s to spread a positive message of hope, then that’s what I need to stay on target for. There are so many rabbit holes and traps prepared for me via Internet I must suit up prior to every stepping foot on those journeys. Every step I make today, God help it to be on the path Your will has laid out for me, amen 🙏🏻

There are so many distractions and temptations in the world today. Lord, let me stay focused on you and your love. Show me the way to walk your path and help others to do the same. Amen

Toy gods, false gods, there are so many in the world to tempt us. Look for and worship the true God. Toy gods give short term pleasure, the true God gives eternal salvation. Love you Jesus! 💛🤍💚🧡

What gods are we letting into our lives that should not be there? Do we watch our favorite show, our favorite sports team, our hobbies, x social media or something else quietly slip between us and God? I am not saying that we should not have time to relax and enjoy life but we do need to be careful not to let those things take over in place of God.

Turn off the tv and grab a book!! That’s what I’m challenging myself to do! The world’s toy gods are enticing-but there is no life there! The satan tells me-you worked hard today-you deserve some veg time-LIES!!

Father God, please forgive our idolatry. Forgive us for making a god in our image. Please forgive us for picking and choosing scripture to believe. Forgive us for trying to make scripture fit how we live instead of making our lives for the scriptures.

The world flashes its shiny objects and we chase the world - as if it can offer hope, rescue our souls, or fill our empty spaces like a little god.
Men, The world only offers cheap, impotent, strange toy gods -- like money, time, pride, greed, lust, power, food, etc.
Put away the toy gods and turn to the one and only God who knows you and loves you. Confess, repent, and find rest.
