Man I love that one Ash! It reminds me of Einsteins quote which I hold pretty near and dear to my heart “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Some of the best things I have learned weren’t from academics. Not to say I haven’t learned a lot from them for my career and about general psychology. But the good stuff. The stuff that my mind craved to learn more than anything else. I learned that from a bunch of drunks from all walks of life in AA. Most of my life I thought someone has to be smarter than me to learn from. Couple with a lot intellectual arrogance and I wasn’t willing to learn from hardly anyone unless they were credentialed. Thank God I put that incorrect thought process to bed a couple of year ago! I love learning from whoever is willing to teach. At the end of the day all of us are teachers with our lives as the whiteboard. I love You God amen 🙏

Trust me Ethan you are no lower than anybody else. We have all had our lows and we have had our highs. In fact I just commented to a friend that sometimes in life we smell the roses and other times we get the thorns. I also commented that I wish I could smell the roses a little more often because the thorns sure do get aggravating sometimes. Sometimes we just have to look for the small bits of good in our lives when we seem to be wrapped up in the thorns instead of concentrating on the pain caused by the problems of our life.

I have felt prejudices all my life.
I don't wish that on anyone.

No one is low or high, we are all children of God. Never look down on someone unless you are extending a hand to help them up. Always be kind, no matter what the circumstances. These are the things I try to model in my life. Love you Jesus! 🤍🤎💙💜

“Live in harmony with one another.” Wow, that sparked a metaphorical lesson this morning for me. What does it mean to live in harmony? My son has been in band for a few years now, and I’ve watched as the instructor has moved kids around based on their strengths, their God given talents. That’s what God does, focuses on our strengths and places us accordingly. We are the ones who focus on our weaknesses and those of our fellows. We are called to be grateful for what we have, rather than yearn for what we have not. We are encouraged to recognize and call out each other’s strengths, not weaknesses. Imagine a gifted drummer stuck with a trumpet. I believe in attraction rather than promotion, we are to be positive and encouraging to our fellows, and leave the critiquing up to God. I don’t know about the rest of you, but most of my growth came from finally being willing to self-assess in prayer and listening to the Holy Spirit’s honest appraisal. No amount of human criticism was going to get me to that point, only love and testimony from those who had the serenity I sought. As a matter of fact, the criticism and judgement over the years made up many of the resentments the Holy Spirit has helped me to forgive. Many of my amends I’ve had to make, sprouted from seeds of judgement I cast onto others, while ignoring the log in my own eye. Grace, mercy, and love. Those are my marching orders. The rest, is up to God, the maestro, the director, the boss, the general… 🙏🏻

As I read the devotion today the first thing that came to mind was the words to the old children. “Jesus loves the little children, All the children of the world; Red and yellow, black and white, They are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world.” This song though so simple says so much. None of us chose the life we live but we live the life we were chosen to the best ability we can. No matter what race, color, nationality or our social status we are all the same in God’s eyes and need to treat each other same as we want to be treated, even those that might wang to use and abuse us.

Where we go to church - I say go bc we haven’t joined yet - is going to have a “the church has left the building” event this Sunday (10/29). We will be going to a nursing home/assisted living facility to have our worship service and then hang out and minister to folks who live there.

Good morning, brothers. a couple of weeks ago in church, we had a serve day. What a serve day is, we don't have normal church services. We go out into the community and do service work like changing oil changing for single mothers, mowing lawns for widows, feeding the homeless, sitting down with the elderly ext. ext. the feeling of Taking church outside of the four walls is an amazing feeling.

Lord I pray for my brothers that you will fill us anew with Your Spirit today to live in harmony and love…all the while hating evil and fighting the good fight of faith. Help us to remember that only “good” will overcome “evil”. You said be of good cheer because you have overcome the world. Thank you Jesus! Amen!

None of us chose to be born into this world. We didn't pick our race, our nationality, our culture, or our environment.
We are all born equal with the same basic need to be fed, sheltered, and loved.
With each passing day, evil works hard to separate us and divide us, while God works each day, calling us back to Him - unifying us by one spirit, one love, one hope.
No person has earned their life - it was given to them. Therefore, no one has any legitimate claim to look down on another life for any reason.
As God enters our life and our heart begins to beat more like God's heart - we learn to love first and serve others - daily.
