We shouldn't let the sins of our rob us of our hope for the future in Christ Jesus.
Good posts today, gentlemen!
Wayne Watson. Robert you just took me back to the mid-80s. Awesome singer and songwriter. He still tours at 69 years young.

A wonderful Christian brother who passed away once told me that sometimes if we’re overwhelmed our heavenly Father is fully satisfied with us even if we “just be.”

Our greatest asset, is in our story. If I begin to fear, I can look back over the pages of my life, and see where God showed up for me. I can look over the pages of your lives, if you’re willing to share them, and also see where God showed up for you. The key to making my story an asset, rather than a complete liability, is in the chapter where I finally surrendered my life and my will over to Jesus. That is when the miracles begin to unfold. That is where in every underdog or comeback story, the dramatic music begins to play, and the tears begin to well in the viewers eyes. I think about Saul, transforming into Paul. Rarely do I think about who Saul was, only as far as to qualify him as a man transformed by the Holy Spirit. His reputation before Jesus, is part of why he was so effective in helping others grow their faith in them having their own chapter of transformational miracles, if only they too surrendered. Gentlemen, without our mistakes and failures, our hurts and betrayals, we would have no story to tell. God, uses these flaws and scars, to write an incredible story in each of us. We, must tell the story. Imagine the New Testament without Paul’s story… Without David’s psalms… We all have an audience, they relate to our scars, and find hope and comfort in our stories. Without our own personal scars, we are just telling other’s stories. We must become willing to share, to be vulnerable, and trusting that God will work through us to help those ready to listen. 🙏🏻

We all have a past we aren’t real happy about, but we also all have a story of how Jesus came into our heart. I don’t want to look back but strain to go forward toward the prize of life eternal with Jesus. Don’t forget the past, but look forward to the glory. Love you Jesus! 🤎🤍💙🧡

There is a great song by Wayne Watson from a long time ago. It’s called “The Touch of the Master’s Hand”. It’s a story song. It’s about an auction of an old violin. The auctioneer thinks it’s junk and says it isn’t much but it’s the last thing we have to sell. He starts the bidding at one dollar. The bidding gets to only $4 when an old gray haired man comes forward and wipes the dust off it and tightens the strings. The old man then plays it -“Then he played out a melody pure and sweet, sweeter than the Angels sing” - and puts it down. There is silence and then the auctioneer starts the bidding again. He starts the bid at $1000 this time. The bid quickly rises to $3000. The people cried out “what made the change? We don’t understand”. The auctioneer smiled and said “It was the touch of the Master’s hand”. The song then goes on to say that there’s many a man who is beaten and battered by sin, and is auctioned “cheap” to a thankless crowd. But, then he gets the “touch of the Master’s hand”. ——————thank You God for ALL you’ve done for us. I wish this app would have let me copy and paste the lyrics. Look it up. It’s a powerful song with a powerful message.

Before God saw fit to have the boys in blue end my old life by arresting me at school in front of the kids and co-workers…I was mixing a gram of meth, 40 mg methadone, weed, klonapin in a daily basis just not to hurt-can’t say I was getting loaded anymore-that’s how high my tolerance was after 20 years of active addiction…looking at 20-30 years in prison. That was in 2005- fast forward to 2023

Tommy well said. He never sees junk only possibilities. He looks beyond and sees the finished result. We may see ourselves as worthless but God knows our worth. HE IS who is fashioning us for His glorious purpose. We ARE His workmanship!!!

All I have to say is if He can turn me and save me He can save anyone. The last few years before I surrendered were pure insanity. I had become a man who drank everyday I wasn’t on call. My emotions were running the show all the time. Anxiety ruled me and turned me into a fearful person afraid of damn near everything. So much fear in me back then. Just like Yoda says in Star Wars fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. I had nearly completed my journey to the dark side. Using rage daily to deal with life’s problems. Hate to stay focused to get wealthy not for the good of the world but to crush a few people. I suffered alright. That last drunken rage all around me suffered as I snapped and pulled the trigger. Only a miracle happened and instead of gory event a click happened. I collapsed crying out help me someone something help me. I finally felt absolute defeat. Shortly after that I found God I found AA and I found purpose and reason to love and finally let hate go. If God did this for me He certainly will save your life too. Just surrender and be done with your own commands. Thank You God for loving me. I love You amen 🙏

Today’s devotion brings to mind what my father did when retired. He would buy old furniture that many people were ready to throw out and restore it to a beautiful piece that was cherished for years to come. Two of those pieces are sitting here in the living room with me right now that he refinished before his death in 1975. Dad could look at a piece and see the beauty in it when few others could. Jesus is like that with us. No matter what we did or said in the past Jesus sees the beauty on us and pleads with His Father on our behalf telling of the beauty we have behind our rough edges. Some of us may never be outstanding pieces of beauty but Jesus is always there working on us everyday no matter how many times we might slip and fall into the muck and mire along the wayside. He is there willing to pick us up brush us or even hose us off and give us a fresh start, just as dad did those pieces of furniture that he so lovely took apart, stripped the old finish away, crafted nee parts as needed then brought back together to be s usable piece that those that see it cherish. Jesus reforms us into a useful vessel for His good and continuously tells His Father all of the good attributes that we have and how great we are.

Words of comfort and reassurance! I so desire to be perfect for Christ, but I haven’t done so yet. I keep getting in the way, and thank God He doesn’t expect anything different. I love you Jesus, and praise Your Holy Name for who You are.

Grateful that God doesn’t abandon us. Grateful He keeps His promises even when we don’t. Yes, He disciplines us, but that’s what a loving father does. He will NEVER abandon us. It is against His very nature.
287/365: Rescued, Restored, Renewed
Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. ~ Romans 8:34
Never get caught up believing God punishes and casts us away as condemned lives. If that were true, He wouldn't have given His only son to die just so we could live!
Everyone who kneels his heart to Christ has life! And Christ is steadily pleading our case before the Father to show us as salvaged and repurposed men of God.
So, when you feel like the black sheep, or feel that you've gone too far, or spent too many years running the hard roads - remember this: God is in the salvage business, not the condemning business.
