"God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. The answer to religious complacency isn't working harder at a list of do's and don'ts-it's falling in love with God." ~ Francis Chan

The lord does not want us to be cowards Rev 21:8 I think speaks of what happens to the coward, the ones that could helped bring others to god but didn’t, those who could’ve loved thy neighbor but didn’t, that were cowards in sharing their faith, this just how I understand it by the way. Live by your faith, be proud of your faith, and share your faith regardless of this world or how you are perceived

The part of the verse about not being ashamed but join in the sufferings for Christ. That’s me. I’ve been so afraid to share my faith that I keep it to myself for far too long. Please pray I will join in the sufferings for Christ

Once again discipline leads the charge. When I’m tired and worn out if I rely on motivation alone there’s going to be lots of mornings I wouldn’t be reading and writing. Lots of days that I wouldn’t work on me after work too. For me it really comes down to discipline. It’s discipline in my faith that makes room for studying when I’m tired, to make sure I get up early enough to have time to read and write about the devotionals. To go to bed early to make sure I’m well rested. To feed my body correctly. To help another when asked and having a program to follow when I help someone else on a spiritual level. I think life is pretty simple in all reality. Discipline and ultimate accountability will keep my side of the street very clean and keep me in a position to maximize what I can offer to the world to improve it through work and helping others. It’s not glamorous work and it’s not like many get to see it. Then again if I was doing it for visibility I wouldn’t be doing it for God as much as I’d be doing for myself and promotion of how awesome I am sort of thing. I’ve done enough of that in my life for the rest of my life. God guide me today in its adventure and challenges. Grow me through any adversity I may experience so I may pass that knowledge onto another. I love You God amen 🙏

This is good. Helping other is great. But also making the time to pray is also important.

So little can mean so much to someone you help. We never know what is going on in others life, so a small kindness on your part can mean so much to them. Live your faith and help others. Love you Jesus! 💜💛💚🤍

My brothers just keep in mind that it is God that sees our hearts and minds when it comes to acting on behalf of others. There are many times that I have given no more than a smile to someone, a simple greeting to another, a thank you to a vet, fire fighter or police officer. Other times I have seen somebody that was looking for food and went in a fast food place nearby and bought them a meal or a few dollars gas for someone in need. Use your faith to help determine who God wants you to help and how He wants you to help them. You never know your small act of kindness might be the catalyst that changes that persons life for the good. Helping a neighbor do some work around their property may lead to a strong life long friendship. Never feel that helping someone else is a sign of weekends but view it as a sign of the strength in your love for God and your fellow man.

Same here Leonard. Thanks for sharing, it’s been tough because I don’t want my kindness to be taken for weakness but I kno I still have to be obedient as Jesus was when he came down as a human to experience what we go thru. Send prayers my way brothers, starting a new job. Be blessed y’all!

I love today’s devotional. I have to be honest I haven’t be faithful in my service to others. My prayer is that God will allow me to grow sensitive to the needs of others, and allow me to be a vessel that he would use to encourage strengthen and aid those that are in need.
285/365: Keeping Your Faith Fire Burning
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. ~ Romans 12: 11-12
Left untended, enthusiasm cools down to fondness, which then fades into indifference and finally burns out with absence.
Our faith life can go through hot and cold cycles if we don't tend the fire. Have you experienced this lately?
A quick devotion is great to start the fire, but prayer and serving others is what keeps it burning.
GO DEEPER: 2 Timothy 1: 6-8
Next Step: The solution is to continue fueling your fire by adding prayer and service to your study time.
