I've found that when I obsess upon my bad desires, I tend to give in to them. I need to immediately change my focus to God and that He does not want me to do those things. Focus on the kingdom of God, pray for others, get out of myself. I am my own worst enemy. God's love can heal me.

@Michael. What I do to avoid the Bible Gateway with those ads is I use the Youversion Bible app to look up the verses. It takes only a few extra seconds and is definitely worth it to avoid the traps of the enemy. Hang in there my brother.

Jesus said we’re to love God with ALL of our heart, soul, and mind. We must love Him with our minds by thinking thoughts of Him and thinking of ways to serve Him. He has been teaching me this. I’m a slow learner.

I just looked this scripture up from Philippians last night. My wife has been having some medical issues that we are unsure of and of course the fears and worries start to build. I was thinking about how scripture tells us not to fear or worry, but just try and shut that off in an unknown situation. I believe what this scripture is saying that as we pray and focus on that list in verse 8 we will replace the thoughts of fear and worry with whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable and we will be overcome with the peace of God. God I pray that you will heal my wife from this issue and help us to focus on your goodness

I read Romans 8:6 I think God is pointing out a mind governed by impulses is a wreck of short term seeking of things that dissipate quickly to create a void. The latter part I read as a mind ran by values and principles set above the short term reward system is a mind that is free and powerful. I think about this often as I once was always governed by the short term reward system. It was alcohol, sex or materials that drove me. Ya it did drive me and even at times made me work very hard to acquire some of them but they all left one heck of a void after attaining them. A “we’ll now what” would enter the chat very soon afterwards. It was a life spent chasing things of decay. Now I see clearly how silly it is making trivial things the things to chase and how it’s no reward at all. Living life on principles by God and making those the things to chase and work towards means everyday is a challenge and everyday is a reward of satisfaction to serve God and my fellow humans. It’s not all cupcakes and rainbows. There’s days and periods that are hard and require much higher output levels but doing for the principles of God makes it an everlasting journey. And the journey itself is the destination to me. During challenging times I’m usually at my best now thanks to this and I seek out challenge because it brings me closer to God not a trivial worldly thing. Thank You God for the challenges and opportunities to keep improving my actions towards your principles. I love You God amen 🙏

Good morning guys this subject was just taught on Sunday morning. So important that we get our minds focused on things above. With the events that are unfolding before our very eyes in Israel, I can’t help but think we are so close to His return. We are in the last days whatever that timetable is. Let’s all focus on Him and make Jesus top priority and everything else will fall into place.Prayers for Israel!

The first verse of the Go Deeper scripture says it all to me: Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4 KJV. On days that I wake up with a mentally of rejoicing are the days I find to be the easiest to deal with and overcome the trials that the enemy throws at me. I find it easier to keep my thoughts in check and off those things that would over wise trouble or bother me. Another passage that comes to mind is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 16 Rejoice evermore 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. If we keep a rejoicing heart and mind, continually praying and praising Him and giving Him thanks then the enemy has no place to let people and things aggregate us and cause us to lose focus on God and the good things He has for us.

Biblegateway should filter their ads. Today’s reading is getting a grip on our thoughts and when you Go Deeper for the scripture reading there are Temu ads at the bottom with women in super tight clothing. 😬😬

Not just you Michael….the same thing happens to me as well. I strive everyday to serve God with all my heart, soul and mind and I seem to come up short a lot. Dealing with people is difficult but I continue to try to love others well

Some days an aggravating person crosses my path and I think, man, that person is really dealing with something in life. Let me pray for them. But other days, same type of person crosses my path and im in the flesh and they just aggravate me and I think or say something cruel or selfish. I hate that about me. Wish I could focus my mind on the spirit or be in tune with Gods spirit at all times! Probably just me though?

Prayed for you. Please pray for me. I need God to control my thoughts. Romans 12:2 - Don’t copy the behaviors and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do. —————— I need that new mind. I need to focus on Him.

Good morning my brothers in Christ Jesus. This is one topic that is greatly needed in my life. I have many different mental issues that I struggle with on a daily basis and God does help me through them. Please keep me in your prayers. Stay strong and God bless.
283/365: Getting Your Mind Right
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. ~ Romans 8:6
God makes a steady point in scripture, directing us to get our minds right. No matter if you see the glass as half empty or half full... the point is to remember that it's God's spirit which should fill our cup.
When we get that right, we find peace and a pretty cool life.
So, get a grip on your thoughts and fill your cup with His spirit. Look for God in the world and you'll find Him. Everywhere and in every situation.
