260/365: Weapons of Faith

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. ~ 2 Corinthians 10:4

Men of God who live each day armored with honor, integrity, humility, truth, and love will win the war.

However, like any war, some days will feel as if you have retreated or appear that you are losing ground. But rest assured, your brothers are in the trench battling forward with you. Christ stands on point, and God has made a way.

Today, may you stand tall.

Next Step: Is evil on the attack? Confuse your adversary by raising the standard. Fight from the high ground of God's truth. The opposition cannot stand against it.

@Dave Law - I'm sure why divorce is an option if you know you are in the wrong, and out of the Lord’s will; however, I don't know your situation, so the best I can do is pray. 🙏🏻

I am compelled to confess my sins to you brothers, for the scriptures admonish us to do so (James 5:16). I recently signed divorce papers. My wife wanted to separate and work on our marriage, I chose not to, and suggested we divorce. I was always not content with my marriage, I made it work for 25 years. I have no real good excuse for divorcing, and I know it is not the will of God. I hope that God will bless my ex wife with someone better. I ask that you pray that God shows mercy on me and grace, and that I may be in His favour again one day. Thanks

Praying for you, Tommy. My wife as gone as far as drawing up divorce papers online (Satan is all about convenience) on several occasions, yet here we are 30 years together this month. My daily reminder: Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. - Ephesians 5:25-29

Good morning brothers, thank you for sharing openly your struggles, as well as your break throughs. What an incredible culture God has created here. For me, social media provides a giant back door for the enemy to use, if I allow him. It places front and center everyone’s highlight reals of their lives, their marriages, their relationships with kids and friends. I must remember, as humans, we default to comparing ourselves with others. The day social media came to be, the poison of comparison became 10x more potent. So, when I hear “we don’t have a marriage”, I have to remember “what is my definition of marriage?”. “I’m not a good father” needs cross checked with “compared to who?”. If a spouse, child, or friend or family member comes to us and shares unhappiness, this is an opportunity for us to ask questions as long as we’re in a place to listen intently and place Jesus in the middle. The only person I should ever compare myself with, is Christ, and do so with grace knowing He’s the only perfect one. I have so much work to do here, help me Father, amen 🙏🏻

Each morning we must put on the Full Armor of God to fight off the fiery darts that Satan will fling at us. We must also ask for the Holy Spirit to be with us. Satan is ready for battle with us every second of every day. We must prepare our selves, and expect attacks at any time. Go into battles as Victors, Christ had already won the battle over Satan for us. Praying for you Tommy. Love you Jesus! 🤎💜💚❤️

Prayers for all husbands, fathers and brothers. So much pain and wisdom in your words today. I read a book called, The man of her dreams, the woman of his," that basically reminds men thay we are to lead like Christ. To that end, it reminded us that even on the days with battles you are never alone, and in Christ you are a victor. It also asked us to ask our wives some simple questions that basically centered on the main idea of "How could my leadership in our home be more like Christ's?" The sticker was we couldn't say anything to our wife's answers but thank you, I'll work on that. Very humbling but it has brought my wife and I much closer.

My best weapon against the lies of the evil one and hard times is ultimate accountability. I need not get wrapped up in how others are acting or upsetting me. I must cling to the truth of God for that is my sword. I must take ownership of every little thing I’m doing incorrectly and not play the game of well they did X so I did Y therefore it’s their fault my actions weren’t in alignment with God. No everything I do I mine to own regardless of what situation I am facing or getting slapped in the face with. I must always turn to God and always take ownership of things I’ve done wrong or could have done better as my actions alone to fix. That is what keeps me on the straight and narrow path. That is what keeps my relationships healthy. That is what helps me at work and at home. Thank you God for teaching me ultimate accountability the way that you did. I love you God amen 🙏

Tommy’s comment resonates with me this morning, as I’ve recently been called to the carpet in my own relationship. We as men are called to be the tone setters in our relationships and in our lives. We will set a Godly standard for ourselves and those closest to us today, and we will carry it out as God’s hands and feet. We will stand tall, because we have the Ultimate foundation. Let us go be forces for life today, not because we want better lives, but because we want to live rightly and then give God the outcome.

Tommy, I am in a very similar boat. My wife has mentioned divorce on numerous occasions. She has told me we don’t have a marriage. She has even told me I’m not her friend. Idk what to do next. It seems like no matter what I do I stay in the same rut. I feel frozen in place.

Praying for you Tommy. If she is not willing to get a divorce then there is still hope. It may be tough but stay the course with a plan with God. May he guide you in the process. This is the thing the devil attacks most in my life is my marriage and my relationship with my kids. I have to put myself on the back burner and put them in the front sometimes. I noticed that the times that drive us apart the most are when I seem to be putting myself first. Keep up the good fight.

To go into the battles we face each day without being fully prepared is a recipe for disaster. We must have on the FULL ARMOR OF GOD at all times and ready with every offensive and defensive weapon that He supplies us because each day we never know what Satan may throw at us. On Thursday the enemy hit me with a hard blow when my wife said that we really have not had a marriage for years. She has said that she does not want a divorce or for me to move out but as usual she is not willing to talk about the issues that brought this about. The statement hurt me to the very core because while I knew we did not have a perfect marriage I have been trying my best to make changes to correct my side of things for the last year. However with God’s armor on I have been to accept the shock of the blow and begun to formulate a plan to resolve the situation with the Lord’s help and guidance. Just remember this brothers no what what Satan throws at us we know we are on the winning side.
