Now then, stand still and see this great thing the Lord is about to do before your eyes! ~ 1 Samuel 12:16

Samuel stands before the people who want to experience God's presence, and they won't give up their selfish desires.

"What have you done?" Samuel asked. "You people are crazy, and you messed up! Sit back and watch what God is about to do! You will surely regret ignoring Him and giving your life to a human king."

Samuel warns us to pay attention! God is patient but He doesn't stand for being second.

Robert M. posted several quotes on the Prayer Wall, one of which was by Samuel Chadwick. My lack of familiarity with Chadwick sent me scurrying to Wikipedia to find out who he was. In addition to being a Methodist preacher and theologian, he authored several books. One of those books, "The Call to Christian Perfection," really piqued my interest. Oswald Chambers and Andrew Murray also wrote about Christian perfection. The subject fascinates me as much as it troubles me, because after 43 years of walking with the Lord, I seem to be the antithesis of Christian perfection. I know we will never be perfectly sinless this side of heaven, but I believe Christian perfection deals more with deliberately choosing to sin when the Holy Spirit is pleading with us not to. "As long as the believer is living the mixed life, part in the flesh and part in the Spirit, with some of self and some of Christ, he seeks in vain for holiness. This is a great reminder this morning. I have let addiction (alcohol, nicotine, porn) be my kings for to long! I forget how the LORD has still blessed me even when I constantly fall short and feel unworthy. All of these things and myself will perish in time but Jesus is forever. Please pray for me brothers as I strive to serve the one true king day to day. It’s so easy to fall into worshiping the things of this world but this is a great reminder to remember you can not serve two masters!

Worshipping anything other than our Lord and Savior is idolatry. He wants our total submission. But we all fall short. Thank you God, for your grace and mercy!! ❤️

“25 Yet if you persist in doing evil, both you and your king will perish.” What king(s) do you serve, do I serve? I see a lot of folks following kings on tv on the news on social media. So much idolatry for false kings. I’m guilty of this. I’ve gotten way too wrapped up in politics and other pointless drivel that does nothing but push anger and hate into my heart. A couple of years ago I served king John barley corn like he was some savior to keep me from having to deal with the mess I kept making at that time. All of those false idol led to my downfall. They took me to the brink of madness as my life shattered into millions of pieces. Not having a clue what to do next to rebuild I reached out to my future best friend who I didn’t know at the time. He took me under his wing like an angel from God himself. Gently made suggestions and asked me questions which made me look at my life with a different lens. I quickly realized I had false idols occupying Gods altar and once I put God there and began practicing His word daily life changed rapidly into a very happy purposeful life. God must go first in literally EVERYTHING. This is the way my brothers. This is the way of real peace and joy. Become a beacon with us to light the way for the next follower of Jesus. I love you God amen 🙏

The world is full of kings wanting you to worship them; sports stars, beautiful women, flashy autos, the list goes on and on. There is only one true king that deserves or worship, Jesus Christ. Love you Jesus! 💛💜❤️🧡

What kings have you invited to rule over your life? Comfort? Money? Chemicals? Sex? Adoration of others-Pride? Food? Etc…all were kings over my life at one point-all can become kings again if I’m not careful to place Jesus on the throne of my life daily!!! strength and courage brothers!

Good morning brothers. This is quite the topic today. It can be so easy to stray from the Lord! My little secret to stay closer to the Lord, is to read the word daily and i fast once a month. Just saying. May our heavenly Father bless and keep you this day. Amen.
