237/365: A Plan For Winning Your Battles

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. ~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Reaching the goals of purity, confidence, and discovering who God made you to be requires training.

The day we say, "yes" to Christ is only the beginning of our journey. Just as the disciples eagerly committed to learning the teachings of Christ, we should do the same if we expect to follow God.

Invest in knowing God's word. Sink it into your soul. Allow it to shape you into a more powerful and effective man of God. Get equipped so you can win your battles.

God, search my heart, mind and soul. Mold me into the man that YOU want me to be. Help me to see the direction you want me to walk. Guide me and watch over me when I stray. Help me to become a better Christian husband for my wife, father to my kids and man for others to see. In your sons name I pray.

No matter your past. Once Jesus comes into you, you must put your full trust in him. Follow him and he will lead you. Do not let your past take that away from. Trust him and he will flow through you. We are vessels, let God work through us

Training… Learning… Lessons… Habits… Where have I experienced these things my whole life? School. Where is God’s classroom? In us and in those around us. I’m sitting here waiting on a 10am 12 step meeting to begin, so I can learn and grow. I’m over 32 months sober, yet I know this is a class I can learn from for the rest of my days. I can watch as these principles and practices continue to perform miracles in lives every single day. I can watch as others learn valuable lessons I have yet to experience, and I can learn through them. Ive watched some get some sobriety, and then decide they no longer need this program, just like I’ve seen people come to know God, and decide they no longer need to grow that relationship. Knowing God, and being in relationship, are very different. I’m not really sure where I was going with this, other than it’s important to me that I maintain the perspective of the only true graduation I want to arrive at, is my final breath. Until then, I pray each day class is open, I’m a student, and the lesson is of being of service to someone. I do that, and maybe I can graduate with honors. Maybe, I make a difference, in a way that honors God, and helps others to find their calling 🙏🏻

Saying yes to God is indeed the first step but that doesn’t mean life is going to be cupcakes and rainbows. In fact in my experience and witnessing others experiences often times it means the evil one is going to launch an all out offensive to get you to rebuke it. Survive and thrive through that onslaught and the evil one will likely try different angles from time to time. Yesterday morning I was crushed to the ground quite literally in the worst back spasms event I’d ever experienced. Stuck on the floor for a couple of hours debating on an ambulance ride to the hospital. I could have cursed God but instead I just kept reading the morning readings and random bible passages while I waited on my mom and daughter come over to help. They got there and I was able to get up and get in the vehicle to get to the ER. It was a long day of a lot of different tests to make sure my spinal cord and spine were not damaged. Along with some urinary tract tests (I never want to experience a straight cath ever again 😆) but God worked through the nurses and doctors. They adjusted medication to help treat the spasms and today I can walk around again. First time walking with only minor pain in a few days. God is amazing and the way He works through others is just incredible. Thank you God for seeing me through an excruciating kind of day. As always I am forever in your debt. I love you God amen 🙏

When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit of God comes and abides in us, He takes up residence in our heart and we become children of God. As a child of God we begin to share His light through our love to Him with others. We no longer live in darkness. Light and darkness cannot coexist. The light over takes the darkness. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it. We are victorious over all darkness that is over Satan and all his schemes through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank You Jesus.
