169/365: When You Pray, What Do You Say?

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.  And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.  Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.  ~ Matthew 6:5-8

In the beginning, God created us and walked with us. He spent time together with us. Hanging out, enjoying creation, and being in relationship.

God doesn't turn his back on us - ever.

Prayer is a conversation with ever-present God. You don't need to speak in formal church-y language.  You don't have to beg and plead.  If you are following Christ -- you are heard.

Just talk to humbly with God - and also listen for Him in your spirit. Have a conversation.

Next Step: Are you repeatedly asking God for the same thing? Perhaps it's time to shift - ask Him to help you see His response.
