124/365: You Are The Light

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. ~ Matthew 5: 14-16

Staying close to God and striving to show His light to the world takes self-discipline. It means sticking with the plan to be better and do better, no matter the cost.

When we spend time with God through His word, through prayer, and by serving others out of love - God's light begins to cover us and radiate around us.

You, my friend, are the light on the hill. You are the beacon through which God's light shines. Stay the course.

I try to let others see my light that God shines through me by good deeds and words. Empathy, compassion, and honesty to show God's work in me. I want people to see the transformation and the better man that God has allowed me to become. The ones who never knew me previously should be amazed if they knew where I came from. Tomorrow, there will be many lamenting at my funeral. Yesterday, they might have just said too bad for him.

The scripture today speaks so much to what I have been working on in my marriage and myself. Ephesians 5:13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. I have shared how being honest, open and transparent has been transforming my marriage and that scripture explains why. As I expose things that I have kept hidden the grip they have had on me is released, then since these are no longer hidden I can openly talk about them to others that are struggling with the same things and offer encouragement as well as effectively pray for others going through the same kinds of things

I don’t know where I’ll shine my light today. I try not to approach days with a predetermined plan much. I tend to try and steer the boat more than I should when I do that. I of do want to shine my light in my daughters lives today like everyday though. That they may see through example the power in surrendering my life to God and all the peace it has brought me. That through that example they may get curious enough to launch their own journeys with God or stay on their journeys. May I keep a watchful eye out today God for where I can shine my light to someone else. So they may get filled wonder and start seeking you. Thank you God for another day to do Your work here. I love you God amen 🙏

GM Men of God! 3 months ago I committed to helping a young man from Africa to help raise $1000 for his education/college degree which would change the trajectory of his and his family’s lives forever. Almost immediately my family came under fierce attack-me, my wife, and my kids have been brutally attacked by a spirit of sickness which was followed by financial struggles due to medical bills and what seemed like everything that could break, breaking-cars, appliances, animal deaths…it took me a while to pinpoint the attack amidst the chaos but we recently took of the gloves and started punching back in the spirit. Heavenly Father, please help me and all of us to actively and intentionally live out our faith today. Help us to be actively and intentionally sharing our faith today. God, please invade my life and live in me and through me. Help me to shine Your light and Your love to everyone I encounter today. I pray that it starts in my home with my wife and children still living at home and extends to all my children, their spouses, my grandchildren, and beyond to every single person I encounter today. Please help me follow You wholeheartedly. Help me hold nothing back. I pray that we,the Body of Christ will turn from our sin,and shine Your truth everywhere. Please help us Almighty God. Each of us are caretakers of our own lighthouse. Let each of us take the time to keep our lamp and the lenses of our lighthouse clean and polished so that our light may shine into the world. We do this. Through prayer, reading God’s Word, doing the work the work he assigns us, living life as close to Him as we possibly can, by helping our fellow man, sharing His Word, fasting, praising Him and doing anything else to serve Him and those around us. LET EACH OF US SHINE HIS LIGHT INTO THE WORLD IN EVERYTHING WE DO AND SAY.
