62/365: When You Have Nothing Left

God has consistently confused the world by taking people at their lowest point and using their gifts to accomplish much!

Never fear when you feel unworthy, empty, and out of gas. That's when there is room for God to do His best work in you and through you!

@Josiah M, dude. I actually went through that exact same thing a couple years ago. I was in a long term relationship as well, and it ended sour, then my grandfather died as well, and it ended up making me feel depressed and bitter at life in general. I have since learned to trust God and His love towards me, but it took almost a year for me to actually start understanding that. You're not alone in that man, I'm glad to hear that you feel as if you're on the other side, but if you wanna talk just reach out to me

This past year has been incredible difficult for me. I was dumped after a long term relationship, my grandpa passed away suddenly, and I became severely depressed. I thought I had it all under control. “I” thought, and that’s what I focused on. God has used this pain in an incredible way to better myself and be a better reach to others. Pain ain’t meaningless, there is purpose behind it. You have to determine what you’re going to do with it. For a while I felt stuck, sulking in all that I lost, but God showed me all I am blessed with. He continues to show me and show up. Even when it doesn’t feel like it, He is always there. Trust in Him and He will turn you lowest point in your greatest victories!

I needed this devotion today. I broke my finger this morning, and I just found out that my grandmother may not make it...she has surgery in just a little while, and apparently she has a lot of fluid build up in her lungs, so it's a 50/50 if she'll make it through the surgery or not

You cannot sink so low in despairing of your own resources that God does not see and care. When a person strikes rock bottom with a sense of nothingness or helplessness, he may find that he has struck the Rock of Ages. Keep your eyes upon Jesus. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

There is so much that I want to accomplish, but I am feeling life is almost over now that I'm over the hill. I have no retirement, no wealth whatsoever. No legacy. I've felt unsignificant. Has my life been good? Good in the eyes of the Lord? Where am I now? What is truely important at this point? God, please allow me some certainty, some peace, some answers. I trust You God, am am only discouraged. Help me help this world. Thank You for Jesus.

If I am to be honest I am pretty low right now. On the outside and to those around me I think it looks like I’m doing pretty good but on the inside I am struggling. Old temptations are trying to get the best of me, I’m stressed out about work and finances, and my spiritual life is lacking. I know all this is connected but I just can’t seem to be able to get myself back to a place where I’m passionate about God and desiring to spend time with Him. I am grateful for where God has taken me from to where I am now but I’m really having a hard time seeing the positive over the negative. I pray for change and that I can get back to the place where I was excited about Jesus and the life He has called me to

Where am I right now? I’m soaring, and there’s no ceiling… Where was I almost 3 years ago? Reading that MSG version of Matthew 5:3, and it rocked me to my core. I fell to my knees in complete and total surrender, I’ve never felt anything close to that much pain and built up fear escape me at once. Blessed are us, INDEED, who find ourselves at the end of OUR ropes… I had clung to all sorts of my ropes in this World, scared I would fall. One mistake or failure at a time, with each failed personal relationship with others, I would slide down that rope, seeing the end approaching… Seeing my eventual demise, and feeling this deep sense of imposters syndrome with every success I might have. I believe all who depend upon their own power alone, eventually are faced with an ultimatum… Surrender to God’s will, His loving ways, or use what little rope you have left and literally hang yourself with it. Quit, or Surrender. By the slimmest margin, and a miraculous intervention, I was afforded the opportunity to surrender. When I let go of that rope, my dependence on me, I found that I’d had wings this whole time… As Brandon said, they’re contingent on my spiritual condition and daily surrender, but man oh man why would I ever want to go back?! Amen! 🙏🏻

"to the weak became I as weak; to gain the weak..." 1 Corinthians 9:22. For me Paul's words stir in me when I know my strength is failing. I strive to surrender to God with the knowledge that the weaker I am the stronger he is. God wants take what Satan meant to defeat us with and flip if for the betterment of others. Today in Matthew the word also said, "...whosoever shall DO and TEACH them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven". Even when we are weak and close to the edge let's not forget we are still blessed because we know where to to. There are brothers and sisters right now who do not know God and suffer needlessly. Blessed Father pour out your undeniable spirit unto all.

As I read this I thought about the beginning of my recovery journey and my walk with God. It was a season of pruning. I had excess dead weight everywhere. I still clung to that last thread of rope because "I am strong" I finally gave up and let go. I didn't just let go though. Before letting go I begged and pleaded with God to help me survive the wreckage I had caused. To help me turn my life to Him everyday and live to be like His son Jesus. I kept my focus on God and let go. I didn't fall. Turns out surrendering to God gave me wings but only if I remain as small as possible. They're not my wings. They're God's and the must be renewed every single day many times throughout the day. I love this life. I love talking to God about all sorts of things. I am truly happy thanks to Him. Finally at peace inside and able to ripple that peace out for whomever God places in my path each day. That peace isn't for me but it's a gift He requires me to share often. Thank you God for the gifts. I love you God amen 🙏

Right now? I am standing on the Rock of my salvation! I am so glad that God uses what the world calls broken, the dirty, the messed up. Because that is all I've ever been before Jesus. Had I needed to be smart, handsome, put together, on track, educated or anything else the world says i need to be I would not have been chosen. BUT GOD, uses the foolish things to confound the wise, thank you Jesus that you don't look upon me as man does or even the way I do so often. All I ever wanted was to be loved and to feel like I matter and now I know I am and I do. So are you! Blessings Joseph

So many of us will reach our hand out God when we are falling down the spiral path of life. We have a Father who will never leave us during that time. But so many of us tend to reach out when we are falling and when our Father picks us up and helps us through our battle that’s it. We go about our day like he’s not even there, when things are going our way. I’m guilty. We will go through trails that’s evident, the Bible tells us that. It’s usually how we find our selves the closes to God. My Goal is to stay as close to God when things are good, and bad. It’s harder then we might think. It’s our human nature. I pray this morning for all my brothers who are going through a tough time and I praise our God for all those who aren’t.

The good news is, if we’ve accepted Christ as our savior, He will NEVER kick us to the curb. The truth is we can’t live this life unless He lives in us and through us. Lord help us surrender everything to You. Help us be living and holy sacrifices to you and for Your use, for Your glory. Help us to not copy the ways, behaviors, and customs of this world. Help us to have new minds. Help us to have new thoughts. Help us to bring glory to Your name.

I do not count myself among the righteous. Not in the slightest. I am working slowly, but daily, to eliminate sin in my life. I fail. Often. I have let down those I love the most. Especially God. But praise God, His strength is even more evident in its perfection, when He demonstrates it in the midst of my weakness. Thank you for your faithfulness, my God!
