58/365: It's Your Race to Run

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. ~ 1 Corinthians 9:24

Did you know that a spectator has never won a single race? You must put your feet on the track and run the race if you want to have a chance to cross the finish line.

Today, focus on the disciplines of love, service, and prayer. Focus on living with integrity at work.

Put in the effort, step onto the track, and fix your eyes on the finish line. Don't just show up... but join the race and Intend to win.

God built you to run the race. He's given you the skills to finish. It's up to you to step in your lane and run with purpose.

This is the first time I read this so I read the whole chapter. I tell you that Paul put it perfectly how I have been feeling. I've been more committed to aligning my heart with that of God's. Fruit and transformation has taken place. Just as His word has promised, I recognize that I am no longer who I once was. This unexpectedly brought about a love and cry for my brothers and sisters still in the darkness I just left. How dare I partake of his fruit and worry about only me or my family, when there's so much work to be done. "for though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain all" (v.19) This should be all of our stance, as Paul said "and this I do for the gospels sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you". Run the race, know why you run the race.

I’ve spent a lot of time running on my own and it never ended good. With God things are a lot better. It’s not always easy but I get so much more from running with God. I’m not as angry and I’m a lot calmer just to begin with.

The last year has been a great learning experience and a great growth path that I have endured. I came back to God after failing miserably on my own. In fact, He was my only hope if I was to not die or go insane. With God on my side, I can not lose if I keep Him first. If I do not try to do things my self-centered, dishonest, resentful, and fearful ways. God's lead has none of those perspective defects, only love, hope, faith ,peace, and joy. How can I go wrong? This is part of my daily maintenance that keeps me on the good track and free from the yucky mud.

His joy is our strength. He takes great delight in His children.He is there when we stumble to pick us up. He is our greatest cheerleader and our coach. we are His workmanship,His masterpiece, His poem. In the past year I have failed many times, but He has been always and is always faithful, and I rejoice in that. Brothers its not a sprint but a marathon and we will have many hurdles but He IS WITH US. Brothers have a blessed day.

Thank you Father, for waking me each morning with the immediate desire to come to you in prayer. Thank you for pursuing a relationship with me. Thank you for your patient persistence and forgiveness. Thank you for being the ultimate Father, loving and intimately close, while also being the mighty creator of everything. In my weakness, your strength is perfected. Philippians 3:14 (KJV) I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. In the race of life there are no spectators in the stands. Everyone is on the track racing. Some choose not to follow the path laid out by race official God and run of in their own direction getting lost in the process. Many of us choose to follow the right path, the one laid out by God’s Word. This race is not to see who id the fastest and best but is an endurance race and all who finish gets the prize 🏆 of eternal life with with God.

Looking over the past year I see the ups and downs in me. My walk with God started about a year and half ago. So I see the first half of the past year on fire for God and jumping in the race a lot. Then I see a period of complacency for a few months. I got a bit lazy with my readings and did not read with intention to write anything. I just checked the box that I read in the morning. That period was kind of dark. I grew anxious and felt off by a lot. Nearly as soon as I made the decision to write again almost instantly being back on the track if you will my zest came roaring back. I am lucky I only got slightly complacent. A little bit more complacency and I easily could have fallen down a long ways. I learned the importance of living with intention in my actions. Never just check a box. That takes me to a sort of listlessness. Instead get intentional about whatever I'm doing. Ask how can this benefit others and what can I do each day to be a good man for my family, friends, and teammates. Be intentional Brandon in your constant worship of God in all things. I love you God amen 🙏

Running a race with God is like running on a plush path of perfect dirt. Not to hard not soft. It’s easy to keep a pace. The world and devil tend to wet the dirt. If we continue to let them wet our path we run on it will soon become tacky and had to run. If we are not carful before we know it the path will a muddy mess and we will fall. It happens to the best of us. My path has been pretty muddy this last year. But with Gods amazing Grace and my path is starting to dry up. Staying in the Word. Is like the wind drying my path, helping me get back on tract a little more each day. I pray each of you have a blessed day and that World will not rain on you path to Glory. Stay strong my Brothers

We are each in the race called life. It’s a long process and our position in the race will change at times. To me, the main thing is to keep moving and praising God and sharing Jesus along the way. Not the fastest, hopefully not the slowest, but I stay in the race heading to the prize of eternal life with Jesus. Love you Jesus! 💜🧡💛💙

I’ve learned last year and some of this year that living in true purpose is impossible without the help of the Holy Spirit. We have to renew our strength every morning and stay focused on him to keep that drive. Being able to apply Hard work is a blessing

This message hits hard when looking over the last year. It is so easy in life to give up a little bit each day on things we have become complacent about. That may be our jobs, our spouse, our kids or our life. We get in a rut if you will of complacency and it becomes easier every day to put in a little less. Matthew 5:14 says we are to be the light unto the world. Even when we are tired and worn our task is to show Christ in all we do. I am very new in my walk with Christ so I still have the fire of the honeymoon but when we step back and realize how amazing and wonderful his love is we can’t help but let him shine his light through us. His grace , his sacrifice and his love IS our strength to keep going. Our body and mind will fail us constantly. That is the importance of focusing on the one thing in all of our life that doesn’t fail, phone it in or come up short. Jesus loves us and he will give us the strength to continue at full power when we feel like giving less. Focus on Him and run the race. Mondays suck but we have a God bigger than any Monday. Remember when we are tired that He says he will NEVER leave us or forsake us. We may be struggling but he is there next to us.

The past year has been hard. I’m tired. Over the last year I’ve dealt with hard work scenarios. I know we have to run our race with purpose. I’m just tired.

the challenge of looking over the past year to see what races i have run is very difficult as i am only recently coming to god. my actions have left myself and my wife both physically, mentally, and spiritually lost. i pray that i can continue down his path and let his guidance take control of my life and push me to run all the races i need to save my marriage and my family.

Good morning also ,yesterday's message was on target of knowing God's character wow . The key is always love for him first and people follow loving Him unconditionally. we have nothing to offer him it's all his to begin with .He is the creator ,people are gonna fail and make life miserable for others but it's our job to love them no matter their sins because God's loved us the same way we can't be good enough we can't earn his love He just does .God just loves us no matter how bad we are he still loves us and it cost him his only begotten son I ask today to think about what I given to show love to those who in my eyes are not as desevering as me. Once we understand the character and how he loves us and what it cost Him we can't show love to others . I have a long way to go but he is changing my life everyday and my light is becoming brighter for him.

Good morning Rick and everyone else! I have to be very careful with my attitude as I work with elementary age children in a public school. Sometimes I let sarcasm into my day. I need to do better. Sometimes I let the negativity of my poor marriage influence me. Gotta do better. I praise God that His mercies are new every morning. I need better attitude/s! Prayers appreciated!

Good morning guys! I love today's challenge: to "focus on the disciplines of love, service, and prayer. and to live with integrity at work." I am semi-retired, working part time in retail. Some days are challenging, dealing with customers attitudes and actions. Sometimes I am tempted to mistreat them as I feel mistreated. Even on my mornings off, they sometimes start with an argument with my wife. I don't know how I could live with integrity in any setting, without practicing love, service and prayer. But I can't call them disciplines without practicing them consistently. Please join me in prayer for this, as I remember you in mine. Blessings Brothers!
