262/365: Asking God to Show Up

"Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers by fire—he is God.” At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.” ~ 1 Kings 18: 24, 27

This ancient story of Elijah is a perfect reminder that when we sacrfice our life for the world we lose power. But living a life sacrificed for God and His people, brings power and confidence.

If you are calling on God to make something happen but the spirit remains silent, maybe it's worth asking if your "sacrifice" was prepared for HIM or for some other lowercase "g" god.

God always shows up. Do not doubt. Sometimes we must pray for our eyes to be opened to see Him in the midst of your present situation. It may be different from what you are expecting.

I sent 2 boats and a helicopter. Coincidence or Godinstance? For me, I've definitely found that there was only one set of footprints when I was at my worst moments in life. I have even given up on life several times, and God has always been there to keep me here. There must be something I need to do, some purpose of His?

Many times I have to remind myself that God’s answer to me may be no. We pray and ask God and sometimes the answer isn’t what we want to hear. God is still with us and will guide us in a different path. Love you Jesus! 💜💛🧡🤍

God does indeed always show up in our lives when we are in trouble and when we are gleeful. God shows up in the way we need though and not always in the way we want. So if I want strength God may give me test after test after test to strengthen me. He may show up with a whole bunch of problems in a family member that working through grows my family towards God in the long game. He is the ultimate long game planner. With foresight we can’t remotely comprehend. So trusting in it whatever it is must be done. Will it make sense? It will make about as much sense as explaining particle physics to a five year old. Maybe the most brilliant five year old understands one or two sentences out of many. Even that is probably being far too generous for our ability to comprehend what God is up to and planning. So we must have faith l, and that is the definition of faith. A trust in something that you can’t see nor prove. Faith that it exists without concrete evidence. Just trusting in God no matter what and He shall deliver us to what He needs us to be not what our human self desires. Thank you God for bringing me to this and helping me to see how brilliant Your plans are compared to anything any human could ever come up with. I love you God amen 🙏

So many times even we as Christians allow other gods to creep into our lives totally unaware of what is happening. It can be work, a favorite pastime or so many other things that we let shove God to the side. Please be careful about what you might be putting before Gos without realizing it. There is a story that I have reread recently that always touch’s my heart. A boy comes into the room with his coat on. It is a cold drizzly day and says dad it time to go pass out our flyers. His dad refuses but gives the flyers to His son. Telling his son to be careful. The son gets to the last flyer and seeing nobody to give it to. So he prays then walks over to a nearby house and rings the doorbell and starts knocking. Finally an older lady comes to the door and he hands her the flyer telling that Jesus loves her. The following the pastor (dad) ask if anybody has a praise they want to share and the old woman which nobody knew stands giving praise to God and the boy for saving her soul and her life. The young boy who had shared the last flyer hat prevented her from hanging herself. Never let anything come between you and God.

Yes indeed Barry-so many times I’ve watched avid take even the huge mistakes I’ve made and then them into something beautiful, and used them for my good! He is faithful and you can be confident that He’s working behind the scenes for you!! Strength and courage brothers

Our God is Soverign, there have been many a time when i was ligned up with God that i saw his hand of Power and mercy move on my behalf! As the Word says " Trust in the Lord".
