246/365: Opening Up For Worship

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” ~ Hebrews 12:28-29

Worship isn't something you attend. Instead, worship is the state of your soul. Whether in a field, on a boat, in the woods, in a church, or at the altar of the Lord... worship is the attitude of our heart toward God.

Think of worship like this: joy. thankfulness. awe. reverence.

Some guys pray. Some guys just stare into creation. Some guys deeply focus their thoughts on God.

Worship comes in many flavors... originating from an overflowing of gratitude for what God has done in our life.

Thank you guys for your testimonies! God really used all of your who shared the reason why you worship God! Ashley, I must admit sometimes I feel like I gotten “used to it”. God has been so good to me I must continue to my heart is a state of worship be He deserves all the praise and honor for his goodness towards me and my family.

I haven’t made it through worship at church with dry eyes since the first day we visited there about 18 months ago… There’s something incredibly powerful about surrendering in song to the saving Grace of our Creator. People have tried to break it down into understandable explanations as to why it works that way, it made sense to me why it was necessary for a recovering alcoholic/addict like me, but until I experienced it I really had no idea just how cleansing and freeing it is. My kiddos have seen me and asked if I’m okay, which was opportunistic to explain how it’s pain and sorrow leaving me so that God can fill me even more. They’re used to it now, I just pray I never get “used to it”… Military, combat, business, or just growing up as a man in this world, a man named Ashley, trained me to be “strong” and “self reliant”… What a load of crap. We are to be soft, approachable, kind, caring, gentle, loving, graceful, forgiving, and emotional. I cry with pride today as I worship, for He saved a wretch like me, and I want other near me to see it, and know without doubt He can and will save wretched like them, too 🙏🏻

God is everything and I’m All In for God. Everything I have is because of His grace and undying love. Do I deserve it, no, but it is freely given. I try to pass on His love to others and share His love. Love you Jesus! 🤍💙💛💚

God lives in me and you. He created us in His image and in that put a part of Himself in us. He is the wellspring of love and all that is good within us. If I should become derelict on an island I shall not fret because God lives in me and therefore is truly always with me. That’s kind of the extreme example and it’s true. Think about how God is in all of us even the totally lost souls of this world. I know that He is because I was once lost in anger, revenge, and alcohol. Then I nearly self deleted. It was at that bankruptcy of my spirit that all that pride and ego finally became too much to maintain. I needed help so I sought God out hard and humbled myself to listen everywhere I went. I’d catch things random folks would say at the store or in a sobriety meeting and think now that sounded hand crafted for me. Then I realized God lives among us through us if only we would get humble and realize it. Gratitude pierced me like a rapier sword straight to my heart. That sword injected me gratitude and I suddenly viewed things differently. All of us are to help each other towards God and carry God in our hearts to everyone and everywhere we go. What power and what responsibility. Thank you God for absolute purpose. I love you God amen 🙏

Good morning my brothers. Yes worshiping is everything. Before i start my prayers, i spent time just worshiping God and telling Him how great and wonderfull He is. May we all learn to take time thru out the day just to praise in our own Christian denomanational way. May our loving Savior bless and keep us all. Amen!

Michael, I too got my freedom from the Lord from addiction to substances. I tried many years on my own. It wasn’t until I completely surrendered to him is when I gained my freedom and he is putting my life back together. Praise and worship at church or in the car is something I look forward too. He deserves all the glory!!!

Philippians 4:4 KJV Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. I have always found that I love to rejoice in the Lord with all my heart while I am doing what many consider mundane tasks around the house. If I’m out weeding a flower bed, mowing the grass, trimming the yard, repairing the fabric on our rica t fence in the back yard, doing a little t of sanding and other things that don’t require much concentration I love to turn me mind, heart and spirit to the Lord in worship. Keeping His praises and songs of His praise contentiously going. The last few weeks especially as I’ve had the heat stroke a few weeks ago and the heart attack s few days ago I find myself in almost constant praise for all he has done for me not just recently but throughout my entire life. Find your own method of rejoicing in the Lord but please spend time not just in prayer but in true meditation and worship of our Lord and Savior.

When I can separate myself from the noise of this world and get in tune with all the things God has done for me-he’s saved my physical life more times than I can count…as an addict since 12/13 yrs old, I placed myself in countless stupid situations that I could have never escaped alone, that continued until I was in my 30’s…now in my 50”s, I own a home, 3 acres of land, 2 vehicles, dream job, a lovely wife and 2 amazing kids… none of which I deserve!! It hasn’t been easy but I fully understand that all of it was a gift from God! Is a gift from God! I will never stop being thankful to Him. It’s a mystery why He chose me to survive and thrive-I’ve watched so many I knew and loved die that I feel guilty at times…what makes me special? As a thinker and over thinker, I have to rebuke myself for wanting an answer and focus on just being grateful and paying it forward! I can never do enough to repay the Lord!!! Strength and courage brothers!
