69/365: Staying In The Game

And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. ~1 Thessalonians 5:14

Our teammates in faith and life are counting on us to stay on the field and help the team win this tough and muddy game.

Commit to lead others as you travel your path.

Be the example for others to follow and find someone who will hold you accountable to show up for the game - every day.

I’m praying for you too Robert. We were designed to be in the game but this world can get so overwhelming sometimes we want it. Sitting out can lead to a lot of problems since we were designed to be in the game. Let’s do what we were created to do.

Gracious Heavenly Father, I come to you now and ask that you will open the hearts and minds of Robert and his wife. Let your light shine on them and clear their vision to see that their walk with you does not fall on anyone else. I ask that you repair this marriage Father and fill them with the Holy Spirit removing any resentment, bitterness, blame and anger. Shield them from satan Father and let your blessings flow freely on them. In Jesus name, Amen. Robert, I used to blame my wife for my walk and one day while talking we decided to seek God first every morning. We called it first things first. Getting into Gods word together every morning and discussing our devotional has made a huge difference in our life. I am now closer with her than I have ever been as we seek God first. We do devotions out of You Version, an app on our phones. They have so many plans to choose from. Then we do private time on our bibles. It truly has made a big difference in our lives. We stopped swearing and our following Gods instruction, satan tries to derail us and we rebuke him through the power God gives us through his son Christ Jesus. Don’t give up brother, keep fighting the fight and stay in the game.

The game ain't over yet. God has a destiny in store for each one of us, He knows the very second we will die, He created every proton and neuron in every atom from a grain of sand to a hydrogen atom on the other side of the physical universe. He is in control of all. Sure, the time is winding, but the buzzer never sounds if you keep faith in Him. Thank you for Jesus !

Robert or any others who’s marriage is struggling, might I suggest a book that helped save my marriage. It’s called “The Love Dare”. It can be a difficult commitment to stick with the 40 day challenge but it’s so worth it!

God does not instruct us to be doormats, nor to react poorly when others treat us as such. Sometimes, we’re led to love others from afar, where we both can work on our relationships with God and stop being each others excuses for acting poorly. I know I’ve experienced relationships in my life where I was telling myself another person was my problem, and it wasn’t until I lost them as an excuse daily that I began to realize the “problem” was within me. Alcoholism ultimately pushed enough people out of my life I was forced to accept that they weren’t abandoning me, I had given them no alternative. Eventually, as I worked to uncover more truths such as this, I saw clearly that most of my hurts in life were at least in part my own doing. I stopped blaming God, blaming others, even blaming myself. I stopped blaming, and began working on my relationship with God. That’s the foundation for repairing and growing relationships with others.

Well said, Tim. I think Satan only wants to keep us from god, he doesn't value us the way God does. he only wants to deprive God of his rightful worshipers. The Bible teached us that we are created for worship. and as you said, whom we worship is our choice. Regarding choices, I fear I have taken myself out of the game. The American dream says my ultimate career goal should be retirement, and so I retired from pastoring. But should we ever retire from doing God's work? I know His work is different for every follower but I haven't replaced pastoring with a truly meaningful ministry. Now working a part-time job in retail, and chasing the world's pleasures, like recreation and vacations. None are bad in themselves, but I haven't sincerely pursued what God wants of this time in my life. Today's Devo challenge will spark a conversation with my accountability partner this week. I am learning to trudge the road of happy destiny. I know there will be trials and tribulations I need to praise God through all of them it's hard at times but the outcome is worth it. I receive joy and peace serenity

I know that I cannot chase someone down and force them to walk with God. All I will do is chase them away. I must attract them to Him. Following the way of God and simply being an example. In that example there is leadership to follow, because logically if you want something you don't have and don't know how to get you're going to have to follow someone who knows how to get there. So let us be brilliant examples of God's love in our life and attract others to worship with us when they are ready. If they are not ready and forced they will be driven away from God. And that's the last thing any of us wants to have happen. Guide me in your light Father, and show me the way. I love you God amen 🙏

Robert, I will pray for your situation. Life can be so difficult with the way the world is these days and the sins that are labeled acceptable by the world. I pray that we of faith remain close and help each other as Satan is at every corner trying to crack our armor and lead us astray. I read something yesterday that said how valuable we “human beings” must be if we are wanted by both our Lord and Satan. The choice is truly ours!!!

Most gracious Father Jehovah Rapha: The LORD our Healer through Your glorious Son we ask that you reach down and heal the afflictions that Satan has placed on Robert’s wife. Not only bring her a physical healing father but also an emotional, mental and most importantly a spiritual heal as well. As You said through Your prophet Isaiah by His stripes we are healed. We may get beaten down and battered at times but we as long as we stay in the game and encourage each other to stay in it as well we will overcome a be triumphant. Not matter what our opponent throws at us that we have each other, all of our Christian friends, the entirety of the heavenly host, Jesus who gave his all on the cross for but then was resurrected overcoming death and he’ll in the process and last but certainly not least our Father El Shaddai, God Almighty. Also, I have read the end of the story and all of those that hold on WE ARE THE VICTORS
